Lack of Motivation

Have you ever felt like there's not a reason to be motivated, not even for yourself? Sometimes, well.. a lot, lately, I've been feeling this way. Like there's nothing good happening no matter how hard I try to make things work out from my end. A lot of people see me as "happy" and "okay" but in reality, I'm not and it gets really hard not feeling motivated to do anything at all. What are things you look forward to to feel motivated? To have that... drive? I wish I find mine soon...

I enjoy reading, but I find that I can't actually enjoy it when I feel down because I can't help but think of other matters. @_@ So I end up either wasting time over useless things or overworking myself because I feel bad about my situation... I have this thing which at times makes me act in extremes. Bad habit. :( Thanks for you comment, I appreciate it! :D

Well to be honest and so I tell you that I, too, often feel unmotivated. It almost seems in my case that everything that I do, an effort is made ??unwillingly! Maybe even if it is a pleasant thing. Even write discussions and comments here on Mylot, sometimes it's hard to get in front of the pc and work (work so to speak, here I would say almost fun!). However, I try to force myself and give me to do more and to make something positive, even when in reality I am taken from laziness!

I have had days when I'm down too. Exercise is good. How is that working out for you? Have you thought about what makes you happy? This can be a good motivator. I had a day when I was down, not doing anything at all. The thing that got me going again was a magazine I got from an organization I joined called the Toastmasters, a speakers club. It made me think about the 2nd speech I wanted to do and it helped me back again for some reason. I guess cos I really enjoy going and like speaking even though I'm quite nervous and have an introvert style of personality and come across as shy to many people. People I met are nice and friendly so far.

@alberello gosh, I know that feeling. Working despite not being in the mood to do so. I guess a lot of people know that. But you know when we're not motivated at all it makes things harder. x_x @shinigstar1 Wow, that sounds like an interesting club! :D I try to think of things that make me happy and it works.. but sometimes my thoughts lead from one thing to another and then I somehow find myself sad again. *sigh* I'll try to think of more things that make me happy. :) oh, and exercise is doing well. Whenever I had time, I exercise a little and lifts my mood somehow. :D

I guess if we depend our expectations on something or someone then we won't feel motivated once that something or someone is out of our lives/system. In the past I used to depend on outside motivation to get through one more school day or work day. What motivated me then were friends I would see at school or work with whom I can chat about anything at all. That makes it all fine for a while.

I get your point... :) I remember what I learned back when I was younger; not to depend on other people to be happy. By that I mean, not being sad whenever a certain cousin isn't at a family occasion, or when someone I want to meet can't come and play. Something like that. Then I realized that as I grew up, it still makes sense in some situations. :) Thanks for sharing your experience about this... :D Let's find our intrinsic motivation. ;)

I am lacking motivation when my parents are putting me down by saying harsh words. Especially in terms of work that they are not motivating me then instead they didn't consider my feelings. Good thing I have a boyfriend who can always lift me up. That is the reason why I am not lacking motivation at times just because of my boyfriend.

Aw, why would they do that? :( I can only imagine how that must feel. It's a great thing your boyfriend is always there for you. It really would make a big difference. :)

I feel this way as of the moment. I have been working online for a year already and the site that I decided to give full concentration by the start of the year, got a very serious problem which causes me to lose my enthusiasm. Aside from that there are several things that I was not able to take care of because of my focus with online matters. I want to be successful with my online earning activities but the way I see the results, perhaps I have to slow down a little bit and perhaps I will just make it as a past time. I have my full time job and perhaps I would concentrate on saving more rather finding new sources of income for the moment. My family who supposed to be the source of motivation are somehow affected because I don't have enough time for them anymore. Have a nice day!

Your statement on saving more rather than finding new sources of income had me thinking. Maybe I should do this as well... I do have several online jobs which I am able to juggle successfully, but there are really times when I have 0 motivation which is just so sad. .

Sometimes I feel that way especially if I know that I have done my very best and yet nothing good is coming out of it. Whenever I get down, I would always head to my new friend who owns a gym and holds dance classes. I would just join her class a couple of times, sometimes even finish it until I feel so energized and so good again. I try to take the intake of my caffeine as well because it keeps me up all night and I can't help but just wallow in sad thoughts when this happens. And mostly, I try to stay away from negative people.

Dance classes, wow. They seem like a lovely way to feel better especially if you really enjoy dancing. :) You're lucky to have a friend who you can join in dance classes. :D Staying away from negative people, check! I don't like being surrounded by them either. I get the same feeling, you know.. like I already gave it all and nothing good comes out of it. Sometimes I just think maybe I'm not doing good enough yet. errrr. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here... :) Your comment made me smile. :D
