May be Shikhar Dhawan could have been tried in ODIs firest. Yet, we have more competition there, from Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina too. Let us wait and see.

And we have had many a players who have been recalled to test or ODI squads even when they were 35+, so why not give Jaffer a chance now?

Yes well I also think that Zaffar should also been given a chance as he was doing well in ranji and he had scored most no.Of runs in domestic cricket.He had been performing well and when he was in good form he is not given a chance of playing.Yes dhawan is a good cricketer but the man in form should be given chance.If he is choosen on the basis age its really sad then.

yes, IT IS a fine decision to be made. Gambir has no batting form at all and he is simply playing without international in all forms of the cricket. HENCE, he deserves

Well we can't say he don't know batting but yes his technique is not that strong and he had many lackings and don't connect well.And he was bowled out in last few matches against the previous teams which he had played.Also the cut shot which he used to play very well ,that also he was not able to play with perfection.And the main thing luck was also not favouring him.

May be, Gambhir should have got some more chance, but now, its upto Murali Vijay, or Rahane to show that they too can come good. May be, Gambhir would benefit more by playing some domestic cricket, and may be even try for English county cricket!

Not really,he was playing only because of those chances in last 46 innings even witgout scoring a hundred.You are the first one saying he should be given chance.He was given chances in 5 ODI's but what happen he failed again.Well Dhoni give so much chance for his out of form player to come back in form but when they didn't perform then he also had to be hard and bring some new face in team.

For me that is not a surprise.I expected this move. Infact what surprised is why Wasim Jaffer was not include in the test matches. I thought Gambhir will be dropped and Jaffer will get chance so that he will open the innings with Sehwag. Gambhir was not performing well in the recent series and he should be dropped as far as I am concerned. Let give him a chance to sit and find where his fault is and let him work on it. If one player not in good form and he must be dropped and give that chance to the inform player.

Yes it was not surprise for anyone and i was hoping for sehwag too but he is still there.Sehwag should take this type of steps with cricketers those who are not performing at least after a long failure.And indian team is having a habit to continue his players whether they perform well or not.You said right that jaffer also did good in ranji but selectors have many options among the one who are performing and only one vacancy.

Hi nishant I welcome the selectors decision. From so many moths the performance of gambhir is very poor. But because of the reason till now there is no another good opener they continued gambhir. Even now Gambhir hasn't improved his performance. So he lost his position. I think badrinath will get a chance. Thank you.

I do and it was right time that I don't think selector will pity on him for next matches also.I remeber at one time he and sehwag were at so good form that no one could bowled them out.They were so fast but now they are past.I think cheteshwar pujara will be good choice in test because he is a classic player like Rahul Dravid The Wall.And badrinath will have to do a lot hard work to enter into playing eleven because these days copetiton is for every position.

I also think that Badrinath should be given another chance and since Gambhir is not in good form he should be given a break and allowed to play domestic games and get into form.

Gambhir has had a prolonged lean patch and he along with Sehwag have failed to give Indian team good starts for more than 2 seasons. So it was about time that some tough decisions were taken. Gambhir is still young and is part of shorter formats, am sure he will work on his game and will learn from the experience and fight to win back his place in the side.

I think it is good to give Gambhir a break and ask him to perform in the domestic cricket and get back to form and then come back to the Indian team. I think it is always good to give players who does not perform a break.
