The other day I ordered potato pancakes at a restaurant - they came with apple sauce or with sour cream and green onions - I did one of each and they were so good. At home I usually just make regular pancakes or even crepes with strawberries.

my sibs sent 2 boxes of bisquik instant pancake mix, so every few days, my mother would cook them for breakfast. they also sent a big pack of dried cranberry bits. they're sour, flat and dry, so not really nice to nibble on. my father doesn't like them on his oatmeal either, he prefers raisins. so she thought of sprinkling them on the pancakes while they're cooking. tastes great! at first we ate it with butter and the maple syrup. when that ran out, we used raspberry preserve.

Regardless of what sort of pancakes one makes, they should be drizzled with real maple syrup if one is taking that sort of route. I will never understand why anyone would willingly choose to eat pancake syrup.

I love a good pancake. In fact I make them once a week for my hubby and myself. I usually make my pancakes with bisquick though. I add cinnamon to the batter which makes them taste even better. So you make the pancakes and instead of syrup you have applesauce?

I also like pancakes but unfortunately I can't seem to make a decent pancake lol! I like my husband's butter pancake the best. I would just smother it with butter and that's it, no syrup no bacon, just butter. :)

I love pancakes and apple sauce or waffles and apple sauce. My husband really likes his peanut butter with them. Some of the creative ways we have done them are with the fruit stix I sell, or adding things like chocolate or other flavor chips. I also like mine with my eggs on top.

I don't eat pancakes too often, but when I do it's usually the blueberry kind. I do like those. If I have regular pancakes I just put a friend egg on top with some bacon bits and syrup. I love, absolutely love, potato pancakes though..mmmm, and I like those with applesauce. The restaurants here serve it that way too with a spoonful of sour cream. Now I'm hungry.

They are yummy! Blueberries are very, very healthy for you too. You can use fresh, frozen or canned blueberries to make the pancakes, just in case you come across them.

Forgot to mention, you can put these right into the batter.

My kids love them with ground flax seed in them. They also really like them with canned pumpkin stirred into the batter. I will sometimes spread some peanut butter on mine instead of using syrup.

I don't ever measure anything. I use pancake mix and add canned pumpkin and water to make it the thickness my kids like. Last time I made them I added some cinnamon too, but my kids like them with or without the cinnamon.

Bananas, pumpkin, strawberries. Basicaally any type of fruit. I love adding a variety of fruit with either butter, maple syrup, chocolate syrup or icing sugar ontop.

you put those things right in the batter do you? How are you these days?

Sometimes, other times I just cut them up ontop. I find sometimes the fruit get's mushy, and makes the pancakes mush. Pumpkin, bananas, apples, pears I put in it. The rest I normally put ontop. Alright, got a new job, got fired my my other one. Been looking at other options for mobile homes. Looking for an early morning job, to make a little extra money.

We are not really big pancake eaters in the UK... However, next Tuesday is Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday - The beginning of LENT in the UK. My family and I make lots of different ones on Pancake Day - Chocolate, Cheese, Fruit and Lemon, amongst others

I love mine in a stack. I put butter, chopped walnuts and maple syrup on each layer till there is a stack of 6. Yum. That was my favourite way but a short time ago, my younger daughter was visiting and she made me chopped strawberries, drizzled with maple syrup, rolled in a delicious fine crepe. They were beautiful!

Ive never had them with walnuts. Ill have to try that next time. My son just loves hot cakes here.

Well i'm Jewish and when i was growing up mu grandparents made something called potato latkas which is a potato pancake. We put applesauce on it and it was wonderful. I have also had chocolate chip strawberry buttermilk and blueberry pancakes. None of which i had applesauce on tho id like to try it now that you mention it. Have you ever tried a buckwheat pancake. I have never but i have seen them on restaurant menus. I have even heard of cheesecake pancakes that are made with the same kind of stiff cheese cake is but i have never tried that either. I have heard of banana pancakes but would never eat them because i do not like bananas. how about making cinnamon pancakes peach pancakes or raisin pancakes. I have never heard of these being made before but we can always try it.
