Student-Teacher Misunderstanding

Here's a situation and is based on reality: The professor is discussing in front of a Math class. Suddenly, he called out the attention of the two students sitting beside near the window for some reason that these two students were caught by the teacher laughing. The students were shocked about this, where in fact they didn't even talked (and its the reality). Is it good that these two students be scolded in front of the class? What should the best thing to do with the students? 2 days passed and the girl went to say sorry after the examination to the professor but the girl didn't felt the professor's acceptance for her apology. The only thing that the professor had said was an "okay". Background of the students: Both were shy. Silent type. Different gender. I would appreciate your opinions about this matter 'cause I have a frnd and she's struggling to cope up with the subject and her studies.

Chug an energy drink and get over it hahah - A picture of me chugging some kind of potent energy mix, all I remember after drinking it was thinking "whoooo are you who who who who?" And I sang that song the rest of my day drowning out the BS that I normally hear all day long.
I think that the teacher was probably just letting his/her micromanagement go on autopilot for a minute; teachers tend to be under immense pressure for many reasons cut him a break?! I think it is okay as long as the teacher is not abusive or overly upset over such a little thing. I know it can be embarrassing to be called out in class, but if you really did nothing wrong it's okay to say I am sorry and forget about it. An apology not taken too well? Forget that too because the person obviously is ambivalent towards him/her and probably is a teacher that does not like excuses.

Hi I am a teacher by profession. I do teaching and then I am a trainer as well in a company. Prinsassy is actually correct. It's stressful enough being a teacher. If the girl knows that she is not at fault and she already said sorry, she should just get over the incident. I'm sure the teacher felt you were apologetic but just didn't know how to respond or just didn't want you think that it's ok that it happens again. Word of advice to those kids: just get it over with then do better next time in class... Teachers would appreciate that more.

there are times that student and teacher have misunderstanding to each other,i am also graduated in the field of teacher and most of my professor told me that don't scold the student in the front of their classmates, instead after the class hour meet them one by one in your office.

I think it's okay as long as the grades are not affected by the strain in the relationship. However, if she's intentionally failing the students because of that behavior, then perhaps there's a need to talk to the teacher together with the supervisor or someone higher that her with the parents of the student. It's difficult to be in that situation. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Yes it can be embarrassing to be scolded in front of the whole class but it shows that there are things you shouldn't do in class. So even tho she was embarrassed she did go and apologize which was good of her. Tho if the professor didn't think much of it then just walk away knowing you did what you thought was right and or the best thing to do in that situation.

Well, let's be honest. Most people are told to be quiet by a teacher at some point. They shouldn't take it to heart too much. She apologized and that is what is important.
