Here in our place most of the public transportation such as passenger fx or passenger van do have portable radio to monitor traffic along the road. How about there in your place? They have a control unit wherein one person is in charge of reporting traffic to the drivers. Telling which streets are passable, do have heavy traffic, accidents and even unexpected happenings like paraded or functions that might lead to closing the road or cause heavy traffic. Usually they have codes of the streets and drivers do report to the control person if the road they pass through is traffic, passable, slow moving or non moving. Its really help a lot to avoid passing to traffic streets and to monitor the traffic along the way and even know some alternative routes. Sometimes its annoying too if the driver will report yelling or shouting as if he cant hear in the other side. It is really helpful if it is used properly and responsibly.

That's good to hear ardoy. Indeed that is needed there in Metro Manila area. But for us here in the province, we don't need that. Traffic is much of ease here. You can choose what jeepney to take.

Oh yes it is really needed here in the Metro wherein traffic are really everywhere that we always dwell everyday. That is what I like living and travelling in the province. No much traffic like in the Metro plus the freshness of the air around.

I'm living here in our province so traffic is not much of a problem not like in the city. Having a portable radio is really a great help not only to the drivers but also to their passengers who are in a hurry. They can monitor the traffic through their dispatchers who monitors their routes. I guess it's an improvement for the operators of these passenger cars.

True that there is no much traffic in the provinces so it is more convenient to travel unlike in the city wherein traffic is really bumper to bumper sometimes and even congested. Some dispatchers also have portable radio to monitor as well the locations of the drivers and the traffic as well.

This is really not something that we have available here all of the time. I do think that there are a lot of times that something like this would be very helpful. However, I do think in the advent of GPS and turn by turn directions, those devices are able to let us know about accidents and major traffic congestion and will give us an alternative route that we are able to take so that we don't have to deal with all of the congestion.
