Has anyone else used chicken soup for the pet lovers soul, dog food before? what are your thoughts about it? I got a German Shepherd puppy a while back and he was on Puppy chow (that is what the breeder fed him) but that gave him really bad diarrhea, after a few days i switched him to chicken soup for the pet lovers soul dog food and he has been doing much better.. no more diarrhea, and he is gaining weight. (with puppy chow he was only getting a "pot belly" and not gaining enough) my only complaint about it is that it is very expensive. I just paid $70 for a 35lb bag just want to know if anyone else has used this kind of dog food and what is your experience with it?

I've never tried it, but here's a link to some info on it: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/chicken-soup-dog-lovers-soul-dry/ By the way, Puppy Chow is crap food. I'd never give it to my dog. However, here's a link to more info about it anyway. That way you can see it for yourself. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/purina-puppy-chow/ I hope this helps! Happy mylotting!

If you look at either of those links I gave you, you can find plenty of good dog foods on there (rated 5 stars). Not sure how much they cost though, but if you want a quality dog food, it usually comes at a price... By the way, I just remembered that Diamond manufactures that brand. I used to feed Diamond to my dogs (including my current one), but after all the recalls it was having (including Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Dog Food) I finally decided to switch foods. Now I get a dog food called Fromm (Four Star Nutritionals). It's not exactly cheap (I pay about $13 for a 4 pound bag), but my dog's a small one (about 7 pounds) so it hardly breaks the bank. Best of all they manufacture their own food, unlike Diamond, which manufactured way too many different brands of pet food for my liking. Finding a good quality pet food is so hard to find. Finding one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg is even harder. It might be possible...you just have to know where to look. Good luck!

oh, I know that puppy chow is crap, along with iams, beneful, and others.. which is why I switched him to something better. But i am thinking of switching him to a different brand of premium food because this one is pretty expensive, and hes eating more and more now that he is getting bigger.
