Do you avoid commenting to discussions of users who don't reply you back?

I read all replies that I get in topics I start but I'm guilty of rarely replying back. Most of the time there's just nothing to add. Or I'm too too lazy to write something and then some time passes and I don't think there's a point in replying so late. I doubt that the person will read it after a few weeks of no reply. And writing something like thanks for comment is just plain stupid.
So, do you avoid commenting to a discussions started by users who you know that rarely reply you back? I'm also guilty of forgetting to mark the best reply but I'll work on that I guess...
btw there's a big chance that I won't reply to your comment here but you can bet that I'm gonna read it :D

I try commenting back to the discussions and that people respond to so I try commenting back to them. I used to be bad at commenting back to people, but now I at least try and comment back to those who leave a response on my discussion. I still respond to other discussions even if I feel that that person is not going to respond back to me. Especially if I it is a discussion that I can relate to, I will comment on it anyway.

Since I am here for friendly discussions, not getting reply from the starter of the discussion defeat the purpose of having a discussion on the subject started. Not getting acknowledgement from the starter only indicate that the person is not keen on my response so would not waste my time responding on any future discussions started by this user.

Although I don`t always reply to the answers I get as many times I don`t have enough time, I try to relate to people here. If I didn`t answer at all or comment responses, I would not see a point of staying in this site. I will not get rich (I can do almost anything that will mean more money than the money I earn here). But friends and knowledge are priceless. And to have that, I have to comment. I don`t mind it if you (or anyone for that matter) don`t answer me. But after a while you start remembering names. And I don`t like talking to a wall

OK, you have a point. I do remember a lot of names around here and I have some friends that I will always reply to no matter what and whos comments mean to me more than others.
I also notice that sometimes when I get a lot of replies I tend to reply to a first few but not the others, even tho, like I said before, I do read them all.

Being bias or not commenting back on others is not goign to help you any. If you reply then you may earn from that activity, otherwise, you just won't.

I do try as best as I can to respond to every comment of my respondent. Although Mylot do not really tell us to reply on each one, but I feel owe it to the one who made efforts in responding and sharing his/her thoughts on what I have posted.
If a member however, did not respond to the comment that I made, well, before, I took them personally. But then learned to just let it pass coz , of course, not all could have much time as I do to log in to Mylot most of the day. I still respond to their other discussions but hope that they would somehow notice my opinion. No reason not to reply if I know that the topic was interesting enough. My opinions are not solely addressed to the discussion maker , but also to be shared to the rest of the Mylot community.

nope, for I am giving my opinion base on what I felt to say or my heart says.actually in making a discussion especially in sharing my ideas sometimes I do not see their comments too for my purpose in making discussion is to express my feeling and mood on that moment and not 'just' to 'make money' only. And If I do ask question I do comment back on their reaction and read it for my purpose there is to get the answer. So We use MYLOT not only to make money but to share our knowledge and ideas. that we must love what we are doing here. not only mind but mind and heart.tHhis is the difference compared to othe social sites.

No. I will not avoid commenting to discussions of users who don't reply me back. Although he/she not always reply me back i still respond with his/her discussion. We earn money when we type but we get a little amount if someone not reply back our responses

Hi there!! I am also guilty of not commenting back as soon as possible when i create discussions. But i do not often try to not reple so even if takes a few weeks i try to respond... you are right often people wont respond anymore if it took you so much time but still do.hehe
As for the trying to avoid discussions of people who does not reply or comment back... no i still respond to their discussions and i dont take it personally and dont hold grudges on people who leaves their discussions commentless. Hehe i am guilty of that too for the same reasons you told us... just too lazy... or i am at mylot totally forgetting that i have discussions to clean.

Hi Bionicman, I like to join in topic that that the writer will comment back to my post. I know there are many friends who are responsible in their works here will comment back instantly or after some times. It would be a great fun if having discussions back and forth

Even I don't reply to all the comments for the discussions that I start. Anyway there won't be any reluctance from me in replying to their posts who won't reply. Because am also doing that. The reason why I am not replying to their comments is I think as same as you, that is most of the time I won't have anything to add to their comments. Also it may be due to the lack of time also. But whenever I get time and have some my own views, I will definitely add to it.

Whether or not a user will respond to one of my discussions, really doesn't matter, as if i have something to say in my then I will respond to their discussion. After all, it is jon them whether they respond or not, as they only get paid for what they do anyway. I really never pay attention as to who responds and who doesn't, as I am just thankful i get responses, as I like commenting back, and without responses, i wouldn't have anything to comment back to. i just enjoy myself here so much, that i just post away, and don't worry about anyone else. Take care, and have a great day.

When it comes to discussions on MyLot, I really don't care if people reply back to me or not, I'll help by answering a question of I can but I really don't care whether people respond to me or not.

I am here for the discussions so if someone constantly does not respond back to my responses than yes I don't waste my time if their not going to bother responding... I understand people get busy so I don't care if it is months down the line that they respond but I feel like if someone starts a discussion they should respond to people that took their time out to respond to them... Too me it is a matter of respect!

I've not had someone so blatant that i can pick them out yet. That's good for me though because I enjoy discussing or trying to with everyone. I hope it will never come to that point I can pick out who doesn't discuss with me on purpose.

Not really no! There's plenty of ways to earn even if someone doesn't answer you. You can try to rekindle a discussion by responding to many of the replies, you get paid for all you t ype any way so if you like a topic then just get involved. It will be completely worth your efforts.

It used to bother me, but now, I don't really mind it at all. And besides, if the discussion is something that I can really relate to, I can't help but join in in the discussion even though I recognized the poster as someone who didn't reply to me. I figure that if he doesn't appreciate it, maybe it would help some other mylotters. Or even if nobody take notice of it, at least it made me feel good to be able to express myself and join the discussion.

I'm the same way. If I can relate usually I will reply no matter what...
And to me it also depends a lot on my interest in discussion I start...
like it's a safe bet that I'll reply you in a discussion like this:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2748471.aspx
then it's very unlikely you'll get a reply from me in a discussion like this:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2748486.aspx
I started both but my interest in each is totally different if it makes sense

I think I get what you mean. Besides, there's this saying that if you've got nothing good to say, better not say anything at all.
Maybe some people on here are practicing that very same saying, either that or they just plainly have nothing else to say or add to the discussion. It would not be safe to assume that that user is ignoring the responses altogether.
