( I also have a good purchased antivirus installed and it scans my pc daily....) FED UP

I find the Mozilla security less effective comparing to Internet Explorer, concerning the pop-ups. I am using some sites where I get some pop-ups when I brows throuhgh certain pages, for example when I am trying to watch series epeisodes online. But this stops when I leave from those pages. Maybe you should check the security of your computer with an antivirus. Do you have any antivirus software installed?

Hi! Sorry, I didn't notice that! I was reading the discussion over and over again and for some reason I was missing that part! I hope it will be sorted out soon, I can see that you have some good suggestions from other users. Maybe one of them will be useful for you.

There is an option in the settings to block popups. You may use it, but this may also block the popups that may be useful. The Firefox usually doesn't trouble much with popups because they don't actually popup, rather they stay in the taskbar as separate window.

I have the same problem with my windows 7 laptop. I just decided not to deal with it anymore and to buy me a new laptop with windows 8, and not one problem so far. I did everything I needed to do to keep popups from coming onthe laptop, but it just kept happening. I thought about reformatting the hard drive, but i really don't want to do that either. since I am not using it anyway, I guess i can deal with it, as it doesn't happen to much, but enough that it drove me nuts. Anyway, my windows 8 is great and i hope it stays that way. Take care!

Well, I wasn't aware that windows 8 solves the problem of popups. Do they have any special tool to block popups or is it that the popups have not yet adapted to windows 8? If it is the latter case, then it may not be long before you start seeing popups on your windows 8 too.

Sounds like it may be Malware. Very likely actually. Try using Malwarebytes, one of the best virus removal software I have found. It doesn't interfere with your firewall either so its safe to use with another virus protection program. Best of all, it's free! http://www.malwarebytes.org/ It'll send you to cnet (they have to redirect to partner sites to make money, since the software is free) and you can download from there. Hope this helps :)

This has been something that I've had happen before when it comes to my computer, but thankfully, it is something that I haven't had happen in quite some time. Whenever I've had this happen with my computer, it has actually been something that was a result of a virus and these viruses have not been something that my virus protection has been able to catch when doing my regular scans. I hope that you are able to get your computer straightened up pretty soon because there is nothing worse than having something like this going on with your computer.

Yeah thats very strange. My suggestion is to check that website add it in resticted sites list in internet options. If their are any tool bars installed remove it from the syatem. Dont install any unwanted toolbars to your system. Dont allow all Popups.
