Buying stocks

At one time, I made extra money buying and selling stocks. I did not and still do not know anything about stocks. I had friends who were acquainted with the market so they gave me some advice. I'm no longer in the market because I don't want to lose any money. Is there anyone here who is buying stocks and is happy with their purchase?

maybe you are a trader and not for long term investments, I am in the stock market and experiencing also the negative and positive movement of my portfolio but I am not worried because for me stock investment is like a saving that earn more than the % I can earn in the bank and i will do this for the next 30 years of my life

Good luck to you, airkulet. I do hope that you study your stocks that you buy because you really can't take chances.

I'm a newbie in Stock Market, but this is what I've learned. Stock is the perfect way to invest "LONG-TERM". Long term meaning 10-20+ years. Why? because even though a share might go down today.. all of it will still gain when time comes. My mentor always advice me to stay away in trading, because my money might disappear in a blink of an eye.

You're right about having long term stocks, but again it dependson the stock. It should be a well-known stock. Also, you have to trust your stock broker. Spome of them are anxious to sell in order to make some money.

I am a person trying fortune in Stock Market occasionally since November 2008. Actually I have to be with gain since all stocks all over the world were very cheap in November 2008. But I engaged in Day trade and lost money. Persons who buy good stocks at dips for a fixed portion of actual cash that they allocated to purchase stocks, get good returns from stock market. To average stocks so, one need to has a good amount as cash. Using this averaging method profit is possible within a period of 1 year since stock markets are in a stabilized state at present.

I looked into it once, but was rather confused. I know my sister does it and looses money all the time. That's one reason I don't do it, as I don't want to loose money.
