Country singer Cindy McCready age 37 committed suicide yesterday. She took a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. How in heavens name does one do this especially leaving two kids, one being less then a year old? I know this happens all the time people killing themselves and leaving kids behind. However, I believe it is so selfish of them to do this to their kids. The kids then live with these questions for the rest of their lives. Why did my mother kill herself? Why didn't she love me enough to not kill herself? Was it because of me and what did I do to cause it? etc...

I find it so sad that she killed herself, and the dog didn't do anything to deserve to be shot either.

No the dog was innocent and I think I feel worse about that then her taking her life. However, I feel really bad about the sons who will not have their parents to raise them.

First of all you all seem sadder about the dog being shot than about Cindy or the kids and that is never good. yes i'm upset she shot the dog but i am upset she shot herself as well because now those 2 kids of hers have to live and grow without a mother. They will also have questions about their mother like what was she like why did she kill herself am i to blame those kind of things. Now i wasn't really a Cindy McCready fan but i'm still sad she is gone. I feel horrible for the dog the kids her entire family. I have depression as well and have wanted to end my life but the reason i do not is because i know the love of my family and close friends and how hurt they would be if i did that. Yes killing your self is very selfish. It is also a permanent solution to a temporary problem as iv'e always been told and this is why i do not do it to myself.

Don't get me wrong I'm upset that she would take her life but to kill an innocent dog I question why? I also feel there is always a solution to problems if you are willing to work at fixing them. Everyday changes nothing stays the same and she should have had the guts to straighten her life out for her kids if anything else.

One of the stations had made the comment that they were trying to pin the shooting of her boyfriend on her. Her father had stated that she stayed in bed and would have nothing to do with them, while he was staying with her to help her cope. In looking back, I am sure he is wishing that he would have tried to get her help. You can go down so fast, when you have already been down to nothing. I hope that I never get so low to feel that is the only way to deal with things.

I also feel that way now, but I do not think that people are in their right state of mind when they do things like this. They are not thinking rationally. Sometimes life is so harsh, sometimes by bad choices you make and sometimes not, that you hit bottom and nothing anyone says brings you back up. I had a friend, that lost her family in a car accident. She lost her will to live. People surrounded her with love and support, but she never got back on her feet, and eventually could not deal anymore. It was sad, as she lost her kids and husband, and just totally lost her mind. I hope that I am strong enough to deal with everything, if something that big ever happened, but you never know.

I always feel there is a solution to any problem happening in your life. However, taking your own life is never the solution because you end up leaving so much pain and hurt for others to have to deal with.

i don't know this woman or her reasons for doing this. I think it would be wrong to judge her. I do feel bad for her children but I also feel sad for her. For whatever reason and reasons I hope most of us could not understand, she was sad enough and in such a dark place in her life that she could not..was unable to think of anything beyond her own misery. I think it is up to those that are left behind to explain to her kids that mommy had a problem and that it was not because of them that she did this. I don't think any of us should judge this woman. Its a sad sad story.

It is a very sad story but she should have chosen another route which would be to live on and get her life straighten out so she could get her kids back from foster care. I'm sure the remaining family members will tell the kids the truth when they are older but they will still be hurting for life.

It is a selfish act but if the person is That selfish , how good of a mother would she be? I believe either you make a child the center of your life when you are pregenant with them or waiting for ther adoption to go through or you won't. Sadly Cindy was in so much pain she didn't make the kids number 1. It is so sad.

Hiya lelin, Someone who feels the need to take their life must be in a terrible state of mind for a start off. They cannot be in a right state of normal thinking. Their depression must be so terrible that they cannot see any other way out. I cannot help but feel so sorry for her and of course for the dog that was not to blame at all but I am sure she was not right so she would not have thought about the dog like that. We are having a lot of people killing themselves here at the moment its just to sad to write about. How do you get to help people like that it is not easy no easy answer here.xxx

Its very sad story and I can't imagine what the family is going through at this time. Its a shame that no one could reach her in time before it resulted so tragically.

Hiya lelin, With so much going on around us being normal I think is almost impossible to achieve each of us has a weakness perhaps her big one was this and all of us can get to where she got as well no mistaking it. Even with all those relaxation techniques they have out now its just not reaching those who really need help. There is no shame in medication some people cannot be without it until they come across a brilliant Doctor who manages to bail them out until then its a question of taking whatever you are supposed to get whatever help you can and never feel bad about it. But I know that goes without saying the stigma they suffer has no name sometimes. I see it this way in this Country and probably you have heard it in yours "la procesion va por dentro" so a person can seem to be not suffering yet suffering the tortures of the damned inside themselves. That´s me off my personal soapbox for now.xxx

Hi, I just read the report on the news, it said she shot herself in the same couch where her BF shoot himself, the father of her second baby. I agree that it is really selfish of them to kill themselves leaving their children behind, maybe she killed the dog with the thought that she could take the dog with her in the after life. How ironic that she would want to die with her dog and not stay alive with her children.

Such is life. It is very sad especially for the children. If only those who do it can know the love of God which gives us peace no matter what we are going through.

Its especially sad for the kids even though they were in foster care. Its a shame that she couldn't find the help she needed before pulling the trigger.
