What was that that Lulu opened, thinking it was from Dante? A black rock looking thing on a stick? NO!!! It was the Ice Princess....for those that weren't watching back then... the Ice Princess is an un-cut diamond still in the making. When they mine diamonds, they dont' find them clear glistening stones...diamonds are black harden (over centuries)coal and then "cleaned up" to make a diamond as we know it. Now, back in the 80's...Nicos Cassidine (helenas husband) had the Ice Princess mounted for display and shipped it somewhere..but it ended up on the docks at Port Charles and the box fell open and a worker found the statue and stole it..took it home to his wife, not knowing what it was. She and Luke hooked up later and then the story of who has the rocks started and Robert Scorpio entered the picture. He and Luke were hunting for the diamond...and that is what took them and Laura and meeting up with Tiffany Hill, to stow away on the Cassidine yachet and go to the Cassidine island where the "Freeze Machine" was located. Nicos had already started to freeze the earth...starting of course with Port Charles where they showed all the mayham of the big freeze already starting. Anyway, the fearsome threesome won the battle and as Laura held the guests at AK47 point (thing was bigger than she was! It was SOOO phoney!) Robert was injured and Luke was captive by Nicos in the freeze machine room where he tricked Nicos and Anthony Cassidine (nephw) and Alexandria Quartermaine into the freeze room and he locked them inside...where they froze in motion! Then Luke sits at the controls and tries to stop the freezing and can't cause he needs the password. He is at a HUGE looking computer thing, and types everything he can think of to get the password, when Ice Princess pops into his mind and he types it in and BINGO! That was the password! The freeze machine stops and the snow stopps in PC and all starts warming up! But those three in the machine stay frozen! The now foursome trot back to PC and have a hero's welcome etc. I don't remember now what ever happened to the Ice Princess. It was after that that Luke and Laura got married which of course erased every other story line in General Hospital history! Then of course, Laura thought she was Christy Brinkly and went to be a model and disappeared for years. I am looking forward to watching how they bring this story back into town..they have Luke and Laura but no Robert unless this is how they revive him and then he tells Anna Robin is alive and the four of them trek off to find Robin! THat's be pretty boring! But At least they are bringing back the Cassidines. And..there have been rumors that they are cancelling GH...this being their 50th anniversary...wonder if they intend to just freeze Port Charles...end up with every character being froze in time as the series fades off into the froze abyss.......... I wonder if Steve Burton was on the inside track, knew it was ending so he got out while he could so as to get another job before the soap job market was full again....... hummm..... It just always seemed odd to me that he'd walk out on a 21 year career to go back east to a farm...just like that.....leaving his only job title saying it was to spend more time with his children...and then turned up on another soap 2 months later!

I think they may actually play this event out more than just finding Robin. I imagine Robert will wake up and they will find Robin in time for the ball, but I think after that they will probably play out the Cassidine storyline more. I don't think they would bring this story back into play just to find Robin. That doesn't make complete sense. As for the cancellation rumors I really haven't heard too much about them. I know there have been rumors in the past and they are trying to bring up their ratings so they don't cancel GH. I think that's where they were heading, but recently their ratings are actually going up. So GH may still have a few more years left (hopefully more).

I just meant that they are celebrating the anniversary and bringing back many from the past...Frisco, Felicia, Robert, Laura, AJ, Scotty etc. It'd kind of be a slap in the face to the character if they didn't bring back Robin, Princess of Port Charles! And I notice they are bringing back parts of major story lines of the past I assume in celebration of the 50th...and the most liked or favored storylines from the past. Ice Princess was a major one, that is when Luke and Laura finally got married after that. also Pick-a-lila, that saved ELQ. I remember when the Q's had to live over Kelly's!..And it brought Robert to town and he was a heavy hitter after that..him and Sean Donnelly and when LUke left the show. I hope it is not cancelled. Hope it lasts long time! I am enjoying watching now... I haven't for about 6 months.

I get what you meant. I'm just saying that I'm sure they will play it out more. I notice they are bringing back favorite storylines. I watched a semi episode on youtube back when they were starting the whole relish manufacturing thing some. I think that's what it was however not sure if they were living over Kelly's as I said it wasn't a full episode. I watched where Duke was talking to Lilah about needing a job because he needed money to pay back his debt so he could get off of parole. Edward didn't want to give him one. Lilah wanted to offer him a job in her new venture which I believe she said was the whole relish business, but she needed to talk to Sean who was going to be a partner. I know I missed a lot in there though because I didn't see the full episode. That's the one downside of youtube I only see like partial storylines. I really hope they don't cancel it either. This is the first time in forever where I actually can't wait to see an episode. I'm actually watching it while it's on for once. I'm typing this in between commercials. The one downside about not DVRing it. I actually have to watch commercials.

Oh I know! I haven't been anxious for the next episode in a LONG LONG time! I DVR them now and watch at night before I go to bed so there are no interuptions! And yeah...I can skip the commericals!! I am enjoying GH for the first time in a LONG time! Lila started Pickalila with Lucy Coe's aunt. SHe was a southern belle kind of older woman...dressed really young, but was older and she was a "silly" kind of person...I guess you could say she was the "old" version of Lucy herself. She was a hoot. I forget her name, I want to say Stella, but not sure. It was in the 80's so she had that huge puffy hair style of her bleached blonde hair! Those two started the relish and then it took off. I don't remember how they ended up at Kellys during this...I can see in my mind where Lila and "Stella" were in the living room at the Q's house talking about it and all..maybe that was before they had to move out.. I forget why they had to move out, but maybe it started there and then while at Kellys they "expanded" it or something like that. I just remember seeing them in the living room and Stella going on about it and getting Lila all excited etc. I think also..it was Stella's recipe and Lila's money, but since it was Lila's money, they agreed to name it Pick-a- LILA.

Thinks for all the info. I wasn't watching back then. I wondered what that was that Lulu opened. It would be bad if ABC canceled GH. They have already put on so many crummy shows such as The Chew, The Revolution(or whatever it was) that did not last even a year, Katie which is bad because it stars Katie Couric who is more stupid than a twig, etc.

Oh, I know. There is nothing on afternoon tv anymore! I get so much quilting done! I have been watching since 1968...the Ice Princess story was my favorite...even tho I had to endure Laura to enjoy it!
