Met My Niece For The First Time! :)

I flew over to Sydney to see some of my family, and to go to my brothers wedding and it was a beautiful wedding! I also turned 22 while I was over there haha I feel so old but I also got to meet my niece for the first in person. I had seen photos of her and always thought she was cute but the first time I heard I was an Aunty, I thought "Yeah, that's cool." But when I actually met her ( she is 18 months by the way ) I thought "wow, I am your Aunty! I would do anything for you." Like it finally hit me when meeting her in person that I was an Aunty. I'm not saying I didn't care before but I felt more differently about it actually seeing her. I'm on the other side of Australia so it's very hard to see her. I got back the other day and I already miss her. How did you feel when you first met your niece or nephew? Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

I don't have a real niece or nephew yet, but I do have some now through marriage. ANd they are already grown kids. The youngest is 10 so it is kinda hard to make them comfortable to be with their new aunt. The oldest niece is only 9 years younger than me so we sort of bonded easily because we still share the same interests somehow. I also felt protective a bit and relished the thought that this time, I am the adult.

Hello Raine38! Fair enough. But yeah I see what you mean about being the adult for a change. I liked the responsibility to be honest. She had her trust in me while I was holding her and I don't know, was just a nice feeling. Thank you very much for answering. :)

Hello AidanKay! Maybe one day you will have some. :) It is a nice feeling. I mean everyone is different but I think you would enjoy spending time with your niece / nephew if you ever get any. Thank you very much for answering!
