Hi abi carbohydrates such as rice and pasta or bread is not bad you can also eat those if you want to gain some weight. I do have also UTI and I only avoid salty and faty foods. There is nothing wrong in eating food that is gradual and not too much.

If you frequently suffer from UTI then that's very alarming. Have you tried drinking cranberry juice? I also suffer UTI and that's what I have been drinking. Does your medication's side effect causes weight loss? That might be the cases like that, if so, I try to see if you can change your medication that does not have weight loss effect. Maybe you can try ask a dietitian or may eat food that are rich in protein and carbohydrates. It's alright to eat fats but less, not to the point where you strictly avoid them as long as it's minimal.

Yes, I have been drinking cranberry juice but it makes my stomach suffer, ive been using c.r. 3 times a day and its not normal. The medicine was fine, a bit bitter and makes me dizzy for the first day of my medication.. I weight loss because of not eating rice at dinner, and I guess the fruits also effect of my weight loss.

I wouldn't worry about getting thinner unless you know that you are getting way too thin and are being unhealthy. Eating is all about balance... you want to have protein, fiber, and vitamins in your diet. If you aren't getting enough of that, then things can start to go wrong. If you are getting all your essential nutrients, then I wouldn't worry :)

Hi ImAbigael, you should not worry about your weight. With the course of time, automatically your weight will increase. Then you may not be able to decrease your weight. Have a very nice day.

Yes, I can relate to that. I have sibling who don't give vegetables (healthy foods)a damn. They don't get me why I'm so accustomed to this kind of food. I love and enjoy eating vegetables. But because I grew up eating them, my grandparents trained us to eat vegetables and fruits when we were young. It's always what I look for when I take my order. But My siblings grew up eating meat, processed food, western food, etc but not FRUITS and VEGIES. Give yourself sometime to get used to eating vegetable and by time, you will learn to love them. ;) Eat green and live healthy :)

My mother has been suggested to have health food by her doctor, though we have tried many times, it seems that our food list is still not right. In former times, we have more salts in our dishes, now we try to reduce the salt amount. But it really makes us feel that our dishes are not so delicious. We have changed main food every week, which seems work well. A lot of vegetables and fruits are consumed, red meat has been altered by white meat, sometimes fishes had been used to instead meat. We think we have choose the right food lists, but my mom's health do not be improved.

Just because you are thin doesn't mean that you are unhealthy. I know lots of people who are really think but they are in perfect health. After you have finished your medications for UTI, maybe you can also ask your doctor for some weight-gain food supplements if you like.

Easily said than done. I used to think like that and said I would do this. I started to do it for a while and then I could not resist eating junk food whenever I came across it. But if you are sick, I am sure it is definitely going to be much easier for you to find the positive mind to do it all the way. For now you should just follow the Doctors order till you are feeling much better and then you will worry about putting on weight.

maybe you can gain weight again when you are totally recovered because for now your food is limited and you have medications to take.. just follow you doctor about your eating habit so you will be fine.. uti is easily treated but be careful because recurrences is common.. eat pineapple because it has anti inflammatory properties which can reduce uti symptoms.. get well soon..
