Well I'm very emotional seeing beggars specially old man hard at work like selling candies, plastic or anything there is to sell. I really drop a tear, im sorry can't help it because everytime i see old people, they reminded me of my grandparents, what if it were them who were trying to keep hopes up and live through blue collar jobs. I can't imagine their sufferings to keep up life. Hence, for the people out there, don't abandon your parents, grandparents when they get old and Nor do I send them to home for the aged care. This just pops to mind when I come accross a photo of this man . ..BTW, So excited for this coming September, Im going to see my lolo and lola(grandparents)finally again after 2 years! I miss them every day. They were the ones who raised me and I love them to pieces! even more than my bilogical MOm and dad!

Me too, my friend. Whenever i see old men and women trying to make a living still, it really hurts me inside. It makes me angry too, that their children would still allow them to do that. So, when i pass by them, i really buy. Like the old man selling boiled peanuts on my drop off point, where i am to take a pedicab to the subdivision where we live, i would always buy peanuts. And i would always be happy seeing a lot of people buying from him. He is my suki (favorite seller).

Me too I buy giving them a bit bigger bill and won't collect my change, then drops my tears turning my way back..really sad seeing them working hard under the sun, all the more when other people don't value them and just ignore, dodge them like they disgust those poor less fortunate people. When and if I get rich first thing i would do is build a big one house and gather all of them their where they have a place they can go back to when the day ends, and give them warm at night atleast to lessen their longing of a family who,(which i dnt have any idea) abandon them without second thought :( It makes me happy to see others too who reach out and help in their own little way . And your comment makes me happy knowing that there are still who cares in this world :)

I feel happy reading your topic. A lot of younger generation now won't care to left a finger for older ones who seemed to had run out of their usefulness not realizing that they too shall age. Please don't get tired showering your affections to your grandparents, they will surely love it. God bless.

Yes, I won't till my last breath. Well I think everyone loves their family. i feel sorry and sad for those who don't, they miss big time in their lives. i thought caring and loving your family is the best thing to do in the world. Family balances your life, whenever youre down, it feels good to have people you can lean on, feel that you're loved and tells you everything will be okay.. :) I hope same goes with you and your family too Namiya, God bless you, God bless the world, it needs HIM the most now.

You have a soft heart to the elderly, but I think most of us are. We always remember our own parents and grandparents whenever we see them being uncared for and left to fend for themselves. I just hope that I will not see any of my parents or grandparents in that situation. I will definitely fly back there immediately for them if I have to.

Yes, most of us are. We were created with that nature. Me too, I would die if one of my loveones ever be in that situation. I will exhaust everything I have if that means comfort and life for them :) Thanks

we have the same sentiments kathy. i also dropped tears whenever i see old people still working for their own, worst, they are alone and abandoned. :( first thing i say to myself how careless and selfish their children / families are to let these old people live alone and work for themselves. :( i am also missing missing my grandparents and will definitely give my self a summer vacation so we can visit them at the province very soon. :)

Yes, I don't understand people who are greedy and couldn't even set an eye for the unfortunate fellows. If one day Id get rich i would, for the life of me, do everything to be able to lend a hand on them and give comfort and ease their sufferings somehow. But that would be " IF, ONE DAY" :) But you in my own little way i try to go out of my way to try to reach out and help, it's feels good seeing those hopeless eyes lighten a bit, the feeling is priceless. But not in my life would that happens to any of my loveones, for Id die . So help us GOD :)

I also have the same feeling as yours when I see an old man I just not remembering grandparents I remeber my old father and think of that , he used to go office every morning to get up early and leave the home while I was in sleep and relax! now I grow up and I understand value of hard working people.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right, even i feel the same when i see any old people begging on the streets and i feel deeply attached to them as they also might be having their own family once. I hope children of today's era grow up and prevent happening of such things. i feel happy for u that u would be meeting your grandparents. What say?

Hi Kath ! This post made me missed my grandparents. I have experienced having one grand parent . She was the greatest grandma ever i had. She was very hardworking , very business minded. She was a superwoman . We all loved her but she did not stay long but we were able to serve her. I for one was able to care for her when she was having Dialysis. We made her felt our love. She passed peacefully. That's why like you my heart cries for old's who don't have a family caring for them. No food , no home ! Wish they were mine so i can take care of them.
