Planning of financial expenses - do you have house expense budget.

My mother used to write down the house expense daily, I used to see this from my child hood. But later when my only sister got married, my mum may be within 2 months stopped keeping the expenses accounts. I feel may be mum was concerned on my sister’s marriage expenses.
This way of keeping house account I had seen especially in wives and women, I feel they do spend much economically. Hope this would help savings and also have money when it is actually needed. Moreover I feel an annual house expense budget could help a lot to further without much financial problems.

Oh yes, i used to see my mother do that too shamrack. She has a notebook, where she daily writes all the expenses for the day. But when we were teeners she don't do it anymore. Maybe she got tired of it.

I have a bank account and direct debit household payments going away from this. These payments are for my mortgage, water, gas and electricity, phone and Internet, home insurance, mortgage insurance and washing machine warranty.
I pay my car insurance once per year in order to pay less than paying it by monthly direct debit. I have a pay as you go mobile phone. I have a budget for birthday presents and I take 3 months to complete my Christmas shopping.
Good luck to your sister with her budgeting and marriage expenses being paid off.

My mom does not practice that so maybe that is why she's always a bit short every time when we were still kids. I also don't practice the same but I thought that it would be the best time to do that so it would be clear to me and to my husband where all our money are going. And also, this could also prevent us from spending on something that is not important because you'll know beforehand that you don't have the budget for that.

I just learned how to make plans or lists of expenses every month including the allotted money for miscellaneous expenses. I am now keeping tract of all financial aspects so I would know where our money is going and can also save some for the future.
