kid's birthday parties..

birthday - kid's birthday party

It was my nephews 9th birthday on Sunday, and his mum organised a “Disco” for him and all his friends. We spent all morning making sandwiches and sausage rolls, and cocktail sausages, and had bowls of crisps, and sweets etc. There was a DJ who was playing up to date music, and kids music, and he was playing lots of games with the kids and it was a good laugh. But we are slowly running out of ideas for his birthdays! We have had parties in the house, parties out at the cinema, bowling, and adventure playgrounds. We have had bouncy castles, hired halls for games.. and it’s getting to the stage where the isn’t much else to do. He will be 10 on his next birthday, and is that old enough to stop having parties? What age is when you just take him and a few of his friends out somewhere, instead of inviting his whole class? What do you think of this?

My son turned 10 last may and he had his first party where he didn't invite his whole class, I only allowed 10 friends. It was at the marina and the day was beautiful enough the boys went swimming, so it was a good time. But that will be his last "big" party until he turns 18, which will probably be a birthday/graduation party combo...
