I have 2 adult(supposably?) son's and one lives about 10 miles from me.I rarely see him unless I go to my mom and her brothers house, because they babysit his daughter that is 2.They only live 2 or3 miles from me,but I don't get to go too often because I do not have a car. However I did get to see my granddaughter earlier this week....yah!My youngest son has 2 daughter's and one does not live with him full time,so the weekend's he does not have her she usually comes and stay's with me because her mom has to work.I am waiting for her now. But,the second one is almost one and I rarely get to see her or her father and they only lives about 6 miles away. My daughter is a teenager and she lives with me,so I see her everyday.Yah! How much time do you spend with your family?

I spend a lot of time with my kids. I'm a stay at home mom so my little ones are with my all day long till they are old enough to go to preschool. We spend a lot of time at my parents house and we eat regular with other family members so pretty much everyone see our children.

I could definitely say that I'm lucky because I can spend more time with my family because it's the culture of my country. We live together in the same roof with my parents and siblings. We eat family breakfast and dinner together (we usually bring food to work so we don't meet up for lunch). But we do eat all meals together during the weekends. It's really great - though sometimes I take it for granted, but I'm constantly reminded by these types of posts. hehe.. Yeah, it's our culture to have close family ties. But it's different for my brother. He's separated so the kids don't stay with us. But they visit every Sunday (well at least mostly Sundays). It's just sad that their generation wouldn't feel the same as ours. Perhaps that's when you see that things are beginning to change. Separation is nothing in the past and my grandparents would probably be rolling in their graves if they knew that my brother and his wife no longer see eye-to-eye. It's sad. But heck, that's their decision. I'm just sad for my nephew and niece.

I have 2 kids that live with me that I see every day. My sister lives an 8 hour drive away. I have 4 brothers that live 30 minutes away, 4 hours away, 6 hours away and the other is all the way on the other side of the country. My parents live 1 3/4 hours away from me. So I don't see my family much at all except for my kids unless it is a holiday.

Hi lilybug, Most of them aren't that far away, so why don't you see them more?

For the past 6 years, I have decided to be just a stay at home mom. I don't feel comfortable relying on anybody else in taking care of my kids. I feel that they would be a lot better if I were here to take care of them. But, I used to have a work as a co-manager of my brother in law's pharmacy which is just a few blocks away from our home. I wanted some space from working too long on that job and left unappreciated by everything that I have done and so I quit.

When our children is already on their own, we seldom get to see them because they are busy earning for their living. For us too if we are employed can certainly not get to see them always. Thus, whenever we can, probably on rest days, we should find time to visit them, or invite them to come over the house. It's a good thing your son's daughter is with you. At least that compensates for their lack of time to be with you.

Well i still live with my family... i am single still so i live with them I see my mom and my younger brother everyday... but i rarely get to have a chance to chat with my younger brother because we have a different timezone kind of work. I see my older brother a few times a week if he is staying in our place. Most of the time he goes home to his own family about two hours away from our place.

Not enough time but its all due to living far away from each other. I live in Puerto Rico and they live in New Mexico. They came to visit in November and spent ten days with us. It was great but the time went by so fast. Now I will be going to visit them in May for a month. I'm looking forward to it because I especially miss my three grandkids. As for my parents they live in Florida and I haven't seen them for almost two years. Hopefully before the year is up I will go and visit them too. Its so hard when everyone lives far away from each other. I have to say Thank God for Skype. I get to skype all the time with my daughters and their families.

I have tow children, a son who live about 30 miles away, and a daughter who lives in another state over 2000 miles away, so I don't see her, but I see my son and grand children every satruday, as we go to the same church. I do talk to my daughter every day, but not seeing her really sucks. I guess I have to let her live her life with her husband and my grand kids, so I just have to deal with her being so far away. She does let me know how things are going with her and the kids. Other than every Week at church, i do go to my sons for birthdays, and holidays. It is nice to know that you are close to your kids, as you can see them a lot that way. Take care!

Hi rosekiss,They do live close by,but I rerley see or hear from my son's especially the youngest one. That is good that even though your daughter is far away you still keep in close touch and it is great that you and your son go to the same church.

We still have kids at home so I see them every day, I see my grand daughter most days, as well as my daughter when she picks her up and drops her off. I see my son from time to time, but his hours of work are different from our schedule so we don't see him as often but he is always on my mind.
