I had both wisdom teeth on bottom removed last Thursday. I was nervous but the nurse gave me the mask, and then the dentist gave me the IV. Next thing I remember I was walking down the hall with the nurse toward my mother. My mom said I laughed. When I got home my mouth was swollen and I was drooling blood. The gauges in my mouth had to be replaced twice. Finally I stopped drooling and I was able to take my medication because my mouth was not swollen anymore. The first few days the medication made me tired, and I slept for the most part. I really like the dentist and the dental staff, I think they did a great job. I had to eat soft foods for the first few days. I ate jello, pudding, ice cream, and soup. The first night I couldn't even eat soup because the noodles really irritated my gums. The jello tasted so good even though I don't even care for Jello. It was because it was soft, cold, and felt good on my mouth. I got the stitches removed yesterday. I have been feeling soreness in my gums for a few days. It's not excruciating pain, more sore and discomfort. I don't know that I would call it pain at all. The left bottom gum is a lot more sore and has a very small visible hole. At first it looked really black and now it seems to be getting smaller and not so black anymore. On the other side, it is only sore if I chew a lot on that side. I will be happy when my gums heal. Has anyone else had their wisdom teeth removed/extracted? What was your experience like?

i don't have any problem with my wisdom teeth.. it went well for me.. but my husband really had a hard time with his wisdom teeth.. he is sick because of the growing wisdom tooth for days and it started to affect his work because he cant concentrate due to the pain... i suggest to him to go to his dentist but he refuses because he is afraid going to his dentist.. some kind of a phobia.. i guess.. luckily after taking medicines now his fine.. i hope his wisdom teeth will not cause him anymore pain..

I'm glad to here it went well for you. I'm also sorry to hear about your husbands wisdom teeth. I would suggest you go with him to the dentist, find a good dentist or oral surgeon. I understand being scared because I used to hate going but I finally found a dentist I like. It really truly makes a difference. He would feel better after the teeth are removed. Mine were causing me pain and some nights I couldn't sleep due to the pain. I just wish my gums would hurry up and heal now. Were yours impacted, or already broke through the gums? On the right side mine was impacted and the oral surgeon/dentist had to cut the tooth because it was near a nerve. On the left side, the tooth had already broke through the gum but it was coming in on the side, crooked and was causing pain. That is where the small visible hole is now.

Yes, I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was a teenager. I remember the dentist giving me the option of getting one done at a time, up to all 4 at once. As much as I loved the idea of getting it over with, I opted for one at a time. I'm glad I did too, because the first time scared the living daylights out of me...especially when I heard my tooth shatter! OMG, did I freak! But like most, I survived! LOL I also remember my face swelling up pretty good each time, the blood and not really being able to eat. (Who'd want to with such a taste in their mouth? ) By the time I went in for my 4th and final tooth to be removed, I was an old pro. I just had the dentist numb the area so much that I didn't care anymore! Happy mylotting!

The wisdom teeth removal is a nightmare to me. I had no people with me, while the doctor and nurses used all the tools to remove it, the ham, electric drill and so on. Also I lost a lot of blood which made me feel weak. After the teeth remove, you will have a period of less eating, take care of your body.

My upper left wisdom tooth was impacted. It means that the growth of the tooth was in a different direction thus putting force onto another tooth. So, I really had to have it extracted. I had 2 of my wisdom teeth extracted at the same time. The other tooth was removed about 3 weeks after.

It is quite lucky for me that I haven't the need to have my wisdom teeth removed so far. The whole process from your description seems to be really terrifying and I hope that I would not have to face the same thing. But thanks to the dental doctors and staff, you are able to gradually heal without issues. Rest well and soon you will be able to eat like a lion again.

Hi friend, you have done a good job. It is really painful to tolerate the pain of wisdom teeth. There are some people, who have been blessed with wisdom teeth at the earliest without realizing pain. I have two wisdom teeth, which I have been blessed without much pain. But I have seen others, they had to tolerate enormous pain during getting of wisdom teeth. Have a very nice day.
