What would you prefer people share on facebook?

Only important updates about themselves? Update often, even miscellaneous status updates? Funny pictures? Or a combination? Or something else?

A combination. It's always nice to see other peoples lives but sometimes people share too much on facebook. Me probably being one of them. No, I don't share every single detail of my life on facebook but what I do generally tend to do is share facebook pictures a lot, not ones of me but the cute ones you get on your homepage from pages you liked previously. I just can't resist and share them, then all my friends get them on their homepage and sometimes they like them. It must get annoying. Also the same on twitter I used to retweet everything. Now I've stopped using that as much. I love when I see funny/cute pictures of my friends or them being plain crazy. I also love those quote and little updates about their lives but just not over the top.

I feel the same way you do. I don't post every single detail of my life, but I think I post too much. I am trying to break the habit. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, because I think everyone tends to do it occasionally. It just depends on the person. For all we know, our friends and family love it that we do that. I enjoy facebook the most for friends and family that live far away. I also enjoy seeing the funny pictures occasionally but tend to be too many at a certain point. I hate it when I update statuses and no one says or likes them. It doesn't bother me if some are not liked or commented on. Sometimes though I feel like I am being ignored. Maybe a sign I am posting too much then, I have to agree with you about going over the top. I know a friend who can create drama and sometimes that goes over the top. I enjoy facebook for the most part, especially the exciting information.

Me too. I love pictures. Sometimes I go overboard looking at them though and do what people call facebook stalking lol. I had a status recently saying I was returning to the country where I am from. I moved just about 9 months ago so I was excited to see people. Only three people liked my status and two of them were people who lived in the area I live now and one of them being my cousin who lives in a different part of the country I used to live in. For a minute I was upset because it was as if no one cared that I was returning to the country. I know now that was stupid but it I know what you're saying it does get you down for a second or two.

I prefer to see something personal. I don't mean "personal stuff." I'm referring to seeing pictures of them with family, being out with friends and family. Sometimes I like to see re-shares of pictures of something funny, animals or nature. As far as status updates, a lot of it I can't relate to. I tend to ignore status updates unless it is something personal about themselves or they are writing about something funny. I'm always up for informative updates as well but these hardly ever happen.

I would say I prefer the same. I like status updates that are something new, informative, and exciting. I try and write informative updates but maybe sometimes too many of them.

Funny.. I try not to post to often myself. People tend to turn up their nose to too much traffic from just one person.

Same as I wanna hear from friends after sittin` around a little (after the 'Hey, buddy!' 'Long time no see!' etc.)---their reaction to the latest thing goin` on today.

Hi o2bnocn, It is good to have funny pictures. Updates about themselves would not hurt but hopefully not what they do every minute or what they have eaten for lunch or what they are having for dinner. I hope to see good news too. I do not like negativity on Facebook.

I also don't like when people post every single detail. I don't like negativity but sometimes it happens in our lives. I don't mind if it is something new, or occasionally expressing feelings in a non dramatic way.

Hi there o2bnocn! I like everything. I choose the people that I see on my newsfeed, though. I like sharing funny quotes and some quotes that I think are "super" true. I also like looking at photos and updates from my close friends.
