What would you consider a good GPA?

I had a 3.25 GPA at one point. It has slowly decreased over time. I have been trying to focus better and bring it back up, but it is a lot harder than it sounds. It takes so much for the grade point average to move upward, yet so little for it to decrease. So now it is a 2.84 after failing a course. I decided to change my minor, and I am getting better grades in the classes now. Hopefully that will help to bring the GPA up again.
Any advice?

Just study hard and do the best you can. During my undergraduate years I had a 3.6 GPA when I graduated and when I got my first Master's Degree I had a 3.7 and for my second Masters I hope to have a 3.7 as well. I am sure it will bring up your GPA. If you get A's and B's will bring it up for you. A 3.25 GPA is good and it will help you get into a graduate school if that is what you choose

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation very well and i know u must have got disappointed after seeing your grades falling down but now since u have changed your minor, i hope u would be feeling much better than before as the grades have been increasing. I think u should stay focused and concentrate to work on your weak points.
What say?

Yes I am hoping and praying that my minor will help bring my GPA up. I am already getting A's in the classes for the minor. So as long as that continues I think it will increase, even if it does slowly. I will be happy if I can get it back up to a 3.0 and thrilled if I can get it between 3.20 or 3.50 but I am also trying to be realistic.

In our country (BANGLADESH), we consider GPA 5 is most desirable result. Even though, GPA between 3.500-5.00 are also considered satisfactory. Below is undesirable. Have a very nice day.
