After waking up and opening your TV and looking for a news, you can simply watch News and headlines that will shake your head! Brutal adjectives has been used nowadays to catch our attentions with the news. But I am really saddened hearing and seeing the Filipino news. Adding the Tabloids? Ouch!

Every country with an established media presence has this problem. Not only the Phils but also the US and otehr European media. You should read what Americans have to say about their media channels and they might agree with you with their own choice few words. Media is business and sometimes, the hand of politics is seen as shadow. Good news don't sell as well as bad news.

I don't like the idea of the media selling stuff when their purpose is supposed to be giving news to us. they like to show the bad news not only to make people aware but also to get more and more ratings. i realized also about the news in the US, were CNN tends to be more Democratic views, same with others while Fox is more republican and more bias to the American people.

Yes maybe we have the same agonies. Yet we must be selective and be cautious with what we read, listen and hear.

There are times that the news (in whatever form of media it may be) just make me doubt if it's really or not. The media often sensationalizes stuff selectively. They make a big deal out of something when they figure that a lot of people will want to feast on it, but they will definitely not report those which they think are not sensational enough.

I just smiled sometimes reading a Headlines that you might think of is a news but is an occurrence or a scene of a movie. :)

Well I think it is the competition between rival TV networks and newspapers and tabloids that cause them to sensationalize their news to attract viewers and readers. I think that is the reason for all of these.

Hello tkleyr, because not only it's a private news agency it is also there's competition within the other networks. they claim public service and yet when there's a real candidate that can change the country they manipulate the voters via surveys conditioning the mindset of the people. most people have been drawn much into the showbiz and rumors, not much people criticizing the govt, unless you're a tax payer who are not close to these politicians

yes, they do it for much pop.. I dont know the main reason why do they post that kind of news instead to post always a good news. they only make the people to be scared what happen everyday. actually sometimes they post it in the front page and a main headline .. :(
