Server Error in '/' Application....Why this message is appearing?....

While surfing on net i have got a message which is saying like this....
Server error in '/' application.
Runtime error
description :- An application occurred on the server.
The current custom error settings or this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely...
It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
If any body having this type of error message on the screen, please tell me why is this appears frequently?......

It is a quite common error which shown by a server which cannot run the .asp script it is supposed to be running and therefore can't construct the web page. The message about viewing the error on the local server is only relevant to the web server manager.
What the error means from your point of view is that the server is down (though still accessible) and that you should try again later.
