Ok, so I watched this show callled Catfish: The Show it airs on MTV here is California. I had never heard of it before however I was channell surffing and happended to come across this when there was nothing else to wactch. For those of you who have never heard of this show it is a show about online dating. Some of these people have chatted both online and over the phone with phone with people and have claimed to have fallen on love with some one they ahve never meet in perosn and some have said this has gone on over a yr or yr and a half or even two yrs without even seeing this person in person. Some have siad that there is always an excuse as to not meet up something always comes up that makes in not an option for them to see each other. More times than not it turns out to be anothr completely different person. So my question or questions are these...... Would you or have you ever done this? How has it worked out for you? Are you in touch with that person still? If no what happen? And if yes, why would you want to keep in touch with a person who lied to you right from the start, how did you find it in your self to trust that person? I wonder how is it possible not to figure this person is not who they say they are when they never want to meet up with you! Thanks in advance to checking out and posting your opinions to my post!

If you like that show there is a documentary movie called "talhotblond' that is really good. Its a story very similar to 'Catfish' (which was also a movie, btw) but it goes too far and someone gets killed. Good movie

I only watched it once, was not my kind of show so unless I am in dire need of something to watch on tv i doubt i will watch it again and yes i am aware that it was a movie, the movie was about the guy Nev who hosts the show and his experience in his life.

That is an interesting show there. I haven't tried to be that trusting to the person behind the computer since you never know who that person is. We have to be careful since most scammers and posers are hiding behind the screen pretending to be someone who might not be very pleasant in real life. I would love to meet the person though and maybe that way I can give my trust, maybe, or maybe not. Cheers!

very true you have to be very careful of who you trust in life, but I personally if I found out that person lied to me and was not who they claimed to be i would not be giving any second chances that would be it for me if you have to lie from the very start you are not with my time to invest in and get to know who you may wnat me to believe you are now :)

I have to try this! I've never heard of this show before, but will try to watch it. I would really try hard not to fall in love with anyone online. I have noticed that they always hem and haw about meeting in real life. I don't know, but this is very strange. I'm noticing it from other people. I call it the Phantom love syndrome. People really obsessed with wearing masks, as if it creates an air of mystery. I don't understand it, as I like face to face reality. But I am really seeing this a lot. Mostly from posters that Identify themselves as male. Whether they are male or not, I notice it most from them. Not healthy, face to face only.
