I assume that everyone from the philippines knows this very controversial issue happened in the senate about unequal distribution of additional MOOE ( maintenance and Other Operating Expenses),Senator Enrile and Senator cayatano's conflict started when 4 critics (including senator Cayatano) of Senate president Enrile recieved P250 thousand only while the rest recieved 1.6 M.
During their speaches at the senate, they explained each other's side about the issue but end up the issue unresolved. This issue became viral because of their personal attack to each other despite of their age gap.
The question here is: which do you prefer?
1. A person who doesn't have the initiative to pay back someone's goodness. or
2. A person who doesn't know or failed to show respect to elders.

I think both have their own point of views. I think that senate is senate and there should be no seniors or juniors in here. You are free to express your opinion if you see there is something wrong with it. The fact that the practice of distributing this excess fund is given at the discretion of the senate president I think makes him powerful enough to really favor his allies over those that are not that close to him. I think Cayetano has a point here, the practice should be stopped already because it looks like there is discrimination in the distribution of it.
Since there are no rules on this one then I guess Enrile has every right to decide for the fund and has broken no rule on it when he distributed it. Even COA has seen there was nothing wrong with the distribution of it on his colleagues in the senate. It is a matter of putting it on rules so the practice should be stopped once and for all.

Yes.. In the senate they are all equal...but they were voted by the people to seat into the senate not to tackle their personal issues... they were supposed to do their job as lawmaker .. what they did during their debate is not good in the eyes of the people.

It may looked like we have nothing to do with it but the money they are talking about is our money there. So we are somehow affected by it. For me, Cayetano has his selfish motives in trying to expose this practice but then again he may be right in saying this practice should be change and the decision on how the funds should be distributed should not be at the sole discretion of the senate president alone so there will be no discrimination on how it will be distributed to the members of the senate. They are supposed to be co-equal senators there and no one should benefit more from the others just because you belong to the opposition or not.

Yes its all about our money, that's why they shouldn't divert the issue to a personal conversation during official time because they were there to settle the issues about unequal distribution of MOOE and nothing else. Good thing that Pres. Noy intervened with their issues, and advised them to temporarily set aside their issues and be focused on their job as lawmakers.

the way i see it is they are both wrong.
not one of them is right.i wonder why they won when they run for senator.
they won not because they are good but their names are just familiar to everyone.
i personally dont vote for people who have been elected before becausei believe once an politician win he should do everything for the good of their country but i havent found it in them.

I haven't heard much about Cayetano and Enrile's squabble. What I've heard about was Santiago going against Enrile over the same issue. But if what you mentioned about the constitution is true, then Enrile has every right to distribute the money however he sees fit. Furthermore, Cayetano can only question Enrile in a polite and inquisitive manner rather than bombard him with speculations and mud-slinging.

I do not know which one is the lesser evil but when it comes to respect, you only get it when you deserve it. I cannot understand why the budget for these senators are not equal. Are there favored senators here? I see injustice and unfairness and we should not support these things.

Actually no injustice were committed.. It is mandated by the constitution that the senate president has the right to decide how to distribute such.. since this fund is only an additional fund ( excess from the annual budget allocated to each senators ).
