Parents, do you feel your child is safe at school?

Where I live, there isn't a buzzer to beep the office when I pick my children up early from school. I know a lot of schools have it, and wish ours did. It's a safety issue. And since a lot of kids are bringing in knives and guns at very early ages, I'm starting to wonder if the kids should go through metal detectors as soon as they walk through the door. What do you think? Do you feel your child is safe at school?

The schools around here have pretty tight security so I'll be comfortable sending my daughter to them.

There is one thing my grandma taught me. She was a cop. You could walk out your door and just because someone is in a bad mood, they could shoot you down and not even know you. So there just as safe there as much as being safe at home.

Sure, you can get killed anywhere, but that wasn't my question.
