I don't like the idea of educational tours of field trip will be banned

There were already continous issues here in the Philippines regarding the educational tours or field trip wherein the students died due to accidents like some of them hit and run by the bus itself, Korean students drowned in falls or river, and by the bus accidents. Since it is the fault of the transportation authority and the blame is always with school then some parents demands to stop the educational trip to prevent students from harm. I disagree with that idea of banning the educational trip or field trip since students needs educational exposure on the outside world and usually we are using what we have learned from the trip as part of education as well not because we are just having fun there. Though I will agree to the fact of continuing it as long as there will be safety measures already and the school must be responsible to the safety of a transportation especially bus if this is not defective. Students or parents will pay for the accident insurance so that in case that accident will happen then of course the school can shoulder it. Although there must be really a waiver for it wherein parents allow their children of having their field trip. I would also agree to the fact that educational trip must not suppose to be too far away especially if the kids are involve here. This incident reminds me of my niece that we accompanied her during her field trip then we were stranded 4 hours at the SLEX or middle of the road which was bridge like we are really far far away from the establishments. It is because the bus was defective during that time and it took us long to wait for another bus. Imagine we were with the toddlers that are just 4 to 5 years old. The only thing I am grateful about is that we were all safe which is the most important. What if something happened to us? Even if the kids are with parents then the trip should not be that so far. When we were still in elementary days I remember that we are just having educational trip within Manila and when I am already high school the most far place that we went was Los Baños already. I just also hope that students knows how to discipline themselves as well especially for a fact that most of the time teachers are just only one in each class while students are many.

Educational tours are part and parcel of children's education however, there are steps that the school administrators have to undertake during the planning process of the activity so as to minimize the risks of accidents. They need to ensure that the bus company is licensed under the Board of Transportation and not those colorum buses for hire at a cheaper price. The driver must be perfectly fit for the job with the required licenses including experience. If the tour is to be held in Baguio, school authorities must make sure the driver is competent in driving in the zigzag roads. As most often the case, schools try to economize by choosing the cheapest offers but they are compromising on the safety of their faculty and students like what has recently happened. These accidents make parents think twice whether they will allow their kids to join educational tours. On the other hand, schools should not make these tours compulsory for students considering that parents are also concerned with safety especially if they cannot accompany their kids.

Usually the bus is being the problem here, the school must really make sure that the bus is really 100% safe for the travel especially in far places. I remember when I was still high school the most far we went was just Los Baños but the rest was just here in Manila. I just disagree when kids has to join educational tours that is too far from the place that it takes more than 2 hours of the tour even if they are with parents. I've experienced this when I need to go with my niece and that was the first time. Hope that it won't happen again and again.

I also do not agree to totally banning educational tours. I went to all educational tours during my schooling and I have to say I made it out safely. Probably because I listened to my mom and when I was still young, my parents make sure that one of them accompanies me. Besides, educational tours are not mandatory, and there are permission slips that are given to parents if they will allow their kids to join or not. If they don't think that they don't want their kids to join, then they can prohibit their own kids from joining. It is not in their power to prohibit everybody else.

Exactly the point it is not the parents' power to prohibit the school or any other authorities to stop this field trip but they can just prevent their children of joining it for the safety and security reason. Just same here I experienced the field trip for the whole year and never became absent of that. It became all safe since we have our own school bus for the field trip. And our school is really particular in terms of safety that is why they can assure that our educational tour is safe. There was a time when the other section were stranded our Principal became worried during that time.

i am also disagree with that,i really don't like when they will ban educational tours for all students, because for me its a kind of distressing them from over studying and staying in the school,i think they should never ban generally,i mean just choose those schools.
