Hi, I can understand that you thought that of yourself. When I was in high school I thought I was a slow learner too. But a teacher told me that I can do better by working hard. She advised me to dedicate my time studying and not to give up. I did what she told me. I spend many nights studying and reading the books. I have a dictionary beside me in case there are words that I did not understand. I worked hard to achieve good grades, and I was not disappointed. My hard work and dedication paid off. My teacher was right. We just need self discipline and hard work to learn and get good grades. My grades improved because I followed her advice. I was not at the top of my class but that was okay to me since I got good grades.

I have always been a slow learner, we all have our different ways of learning, for me I find it difficult to learn something just by reading, I need someone to show me on a 1:2:1 basis that is how I learn better, some people find it easier reading from manuals, others find that recording the information and listening to it on tape helps. We all have our own strategies for learning, sometimes we have to train our brains and do things differently. Find out which strategy works best for you, stick with it, after all practice makes perfect.

Maybe you just might need a new teacher? I'm not sure why you feel you are a slow learner. Everyone learns at their own pace and not everyone is speedy.

I try to keep myself active in the learner, whether it is to take courses on the side, or even here on MyLot. I try to keep my skills active or you will loose them.
