Privacy on Yahoo Messenger

Hi mylotters!
My officemate asked me if it is possible that somebody can view your conversation with someone else through Yahoo Messenger..We, the employees access the internet through a network..May I solicit ideas from all mylot users about this? Thanks so much.

Well if someone diligently enough doing a packet sniffing on your network and can decode the package messages sent via the YM protocol then they could of course view the conversation.
Or if you use 3rd party apps to connect to your yahoo messenger which are using un-encrypted protocol then it will be easier for the perpetrator getting their goal.
That's why usually enterprise having a Firewall to protect such behavior from happening and they always use a Proxy to filtered out network activities which might seem inappropriate.
