I have enjoyed secondlife for a while now. I am not as active on it as some. I usually go on it to play games and talk to some friends. Some people use it to get away from real life some use it to just have fun. What do you do on secondlife? I know some go there and it seems too confusing to them but it really is easy to use and can be a lot of fun. I am just curious if anyone is on it. Do you enjoy it? What do you do there? Do you use secondlife to make money?

Would you say to make money on 2nd life needs to be a serious thing or is it something that might just happen? What I mean here by serious is having a purpose in mind to do it and not being so serious that you can not relax and enjoy yourself now and then.

Have heard this virtual environment sometimes ago but honestly have not been in there until now. I have read some books mentioning that you can create your own space there and build your place and do promotion just as you do here in real world. While the concept is quite nice, looks like it's promising indeed for some peoples to post their marketing inside them. I've heard many big companies also had their own spaces there to promote their products.

TriciaW hope you don't feel I'm being too chatty here since you are the author of this topic, I'm just interested in it, great choice for a topic It is true savire that companies got interested in the networking capablities but not sure how successful it is going there because I've not looked at it for a long time. Yes it is a simulation of the real world in may aspects which should ring a bell to say be careful. The same is true of the internet though period. Please say how things go for you if you spend time there and what you think about it all - good topic yes?

Thank you for sharing that very important piece of the puzzle. I suspect that the development side has its challenges and if you are not ontop of the game you better be when it comes to money/time. You are a developer? I've done a little psp, avatar skins, 3d object creation. It was all good but what I was doing would never be profitable. I should maybe be spending time in learning blender but asking myself that question are you sure? Still everything you do I guess is experience and I think you are right in suggesting just where we should spend our time. Successful users I understand have just bought and sold land but I know the ratio is low. Most people are just playing there.

Well honestly I haven't tried the services it self but according to the reference book I've read there are quite many successful users there and as we all know each one of business opportunity had it's own tips and trick which we must grip and hold before we can be successful using it. Of course it's an interesting topic indeed :). Sometimes ago I was gonna check it out their offer but due to the big changes in demand of apps which currently goes into Android, iOS and currently Windows Phone, I'm as a developer tends to make better preparations which one we will invest our time and prepares which platform we would like to go to.

Hahaha... I thought you are not talking about life - or second chance in life or reincartion. Have not heard of this site called Secondlife. Sounds interesting that we can do many things there. Will visit this site when I have the opportunity. Thank you for sharing. Will explore more if we can make money legit there.

I've never been on 2nd life though once I registered but at that time did not get the browser to work. I was at the time on another avatar chat program and therefore can say I have an interest in that kind of thing. I think it is easy to get sidetracked from having a specific goal because there are so many distractions. On the other hand I've heard of people making money. Like anything one has to put the time in and be online for long periods of time. One person I know got a job as a bartender . His job was to serve drinks and talk to people (text chat). The owner of the establishment wanted some live people to host his place (site) and make it more hospitable so he was paying out a small amount of $$ to make that happen. I've heard of people buying and selling to obtain a profit. But as I stated previously, there are many things that can sidetrack a person and it is good to be aware of them. Is there still referrals TriciaW?

It is a virtual reality so to speak. I think I may have made it sound too easy to make fast money. You would need to find a way to make your money as it was stated if you know how to build things then you have a faster chance. You can hang out and find jobs there but again that takes time. Once you do however if you have a personality that allows you to keep making money the potential is there. As I stated I had a job which gave me money but I didn't cash that in like now I see I should have. Right now I make money playing games but it cost money in most games to play them. Making money on secondlife I think they have survey sites like some already do but again it will take some time to find your niche so to speak.
