So many phone calls!

Now I'm starting to get irritated! I get phone calls on my landline and cell phone from numbers that I don't know. I have Comcast Cable and the phone numbers show up on my tv when it's on. The same bunch of numbers also show up on my cell phone. I always wait to see if they will leave a message and they never do! The same numbers call me day after day on both phones. I'm thinking since both phones go to my voice mails so they have the option of leaving me a message. I don't owe anyone any money, my bills are paid so who the heck calls me day after day? I never put my phone number out on the internet so it's driving me crazy. What would you do about these calls day after day? If they want to talk to me why don't they leave a message? I'm thinking it can't be too important if they don't bother.

well i dont know if you are so curious to know who it is calling you why cant you just bother to answer it?. if you are curious enoguh to type this much as a discussion and post it here you can surely answer the call
just answer it see whose calling just talk if it is anything urgent or anything if its not just hang up. and if the person still iritates you after that then call your customer care and arrange a blocking for that specific number. as simple as that. and by the way the message thing and all i dont think that it is a good reason for you not to answer. anyways good luck!

You would have to know me. I don't like talking on the phone to anyone. BUT, I finally got sick of it about an hour ago and answered the first one. They wanted me to buy insurance and when I declined they hung up on me! How rude huh? Then about half an hour later I got one on my cell phone and it was somebody trying to get me to buy something...again I declined and you know what? They hung up on me to! Hopefully that's the end of those annoying calls. How bad do I hate phone calls? I don't even keep the ringer on. The phone lites up and the number shows up on my tv....I HATE talking on the phone!

One sure fire way to get them to stop calling... Ask for their company name, address and phone number. They should switch you to a manager and then you tell the manager to be put on their do not call list.
If they continue to call, you can file an online complaint. Sounds involved but report a few of them and, believe me, they will stop calling you.
Here's a link with more info on it.

Hope this helps.

I have filed complaints online about a lot of these calls. It seems I'm not the only one who gets these numbers calling them. When I look them up I'm surprised at how many people have put in complaints about them. I'm very careful about putting either of my phone numbers any where on line.

Part of my acute anxiety disorder is that I cannot use phones, which is fortunate as I have other members of the family who can, my friends understand that I don't give out my mobile number, if you want to reach me, do it by email or face to face, but NEVER by phone. I only use my mobile phone for emergencies when I break down in the car. When I fill in forms online or offline I put n/a by phone number, with technology it's easy to contact someone without having to call them. We do get a lot of sales calls which we screen. I find it highly intrusive. When I get my own place, I won't have a landline phone, if I have to as part of the internet package, then I will not connect any device to the box.

I think maybe spam. If they have the 1 -900 that is spam. And if they come from a State or a Province that you do not deal with, that is spam. The trouble is that if it comes from a country that you do not have a long distance with, then you will be charged for it and I believe those spammers know it. I hope you are on the Do Not Call list. What I do is with my cell phone, I have distinctive ring tones for my friends in the city, my friends long distance, strangers in the city, and strangers long distance and I do not answer the last two. I wish I could have that for my home phone, but just have the basic program and they do not have distinctive ring tones.

I know how it feels. It "might" came from telemarketers so they won't bother to leave a message. I think there is a "Do not call" registry in USA. You might as well want to check it out so you can get rid of them. You can also blocked certain numbers on your phone so they won't disturbed you. But if I were in your shoes, I will take time to answer them so I would know what they need. If they are telemarketers, then blocked them.

Maybe you need to take time and answer these calls at least once just to see what they really are. And if they are spam or something not of importance tell them you are not interested. Then if you still continue to get these calls you can report them. Many times until you know it is nothing of importance it is hard to stop them. So do what you need too, and then hope for the best from there.

I have received numerous calls on my phone having almost similar numbers, and I guess it is from an office who might be either wanting to sell or offer something. I only return those missed calls if they leave me a text message. Otherwise, I don't bother at all.

hello... now a days many of us are facing this problem of wrong calls...we do use cell phones and land lines for our interaction with our parents, friends, relatives, education purpose and for many other uses in our daily life. when these cell phones and land lines are causing a lot of disturbance in our busy schedule then we are fully disturbed because of this reason...the best thing to follow to avoid this disturbance is to avoid these calls and not to put all tensions upon these silly calls...as we are ignoring them also if again they are causing disturbance to us then the best thing to do is to put the call number in reject list...by putting the number in reject list we cannot receive the call when the call is coming from that particular number which we have rejected...i think this is the best way to avoid unwanted calls...its better not to bother about these type of unwanted calls.
