NUTLEY, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey woman widely known as "the tanning mom" is celebrating a grand jury's refusal to indict her on a charge she unlawfully let her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth.
Patricia Krentcil addressed reporters outside her Nutley home Tuesday night by yelling: "cha-ching!" Prosecutors announced earlier in the day she no longer faced a child endangerment charge.
She says her life has been "a living hell" and she plans to move to London for a year to decompress while her husband and kids stay in New Jersey.
Krentcil became a tabloid sensation because of her own deep tan and professed love of tanning. She says "tanning is not a crime" and she'll keep at it.
Asked what she learned from the whole episode, she replied, "People suck."

I agree that the woman really overdoes it with the tanning and does seem a bit out there. I do remember this story and I also remember the tanning salon stating that her daughter never once entered the tanning beds.

Oh I agree with you. I understand her frustration with the publicity and the court procedure etc. if in fact she was innocent of bringing her child into a tanning booth. I don't recall all the stories but I did follow up on it when it first happened and I kind of did feel that she was innocent of doing that. STILL, in one of the videos, she shouted that she was a good mom. NO she is NOT. A good mom teaches her child by example. Tanning to the extent that she tans is just not healthy and setting a bad example for her little girl,in my opinion. She seems like a nut case to be honest. Ok so she won her case but once again, she is setting yet another bad example for her kids by the way she runs her mouth. Leaving the country?? That's just bizarre and draws even more attention to her parenting.
As for a modeling career...hmmm... I imagine she would be a perfect model for a health or beauty magazine that is trying to show just what over-tanning can do to you. She used to be a very pretty woman but not so much anymore.

well i am sorry but when i heard that she plans to move to another country i found that a bit odd then she said to the news people that she has a couple of modeling jobs I am sorry did i hear that right yes you did and i want to know what kind that was is it the worlds worse mom then she does have my vote for that but by no means is she now or ever a model think she need to get off her dumb dumb pills

I remember this story from when it first happened. I can't believe they didn't find her guilty. So now its ok for her to let her little girl tan? I don't understand this. The mom looks horrible and I can't imagine any man putting up with this type of behavior. I think she needs mental help to be first doing this to herself but mainly because she had her daughter tanning too when she is nothing but a child. @Dmartinez240 (33)
