Philippine Politics is overcrowded. They have the President as Head State, Vice Pres, 24 Senators, Congressmen to represent the district, Governors, Mayors, Councilors, Barangay Chairmen, Barangay Councilors, Kagawad, Tanod, They also added Party list for Congressmen and Senators. They may create millions of Political Positions but millions are also corrupt Political Officials then nothing will happened for it will end to debates and criminal act, if debates is beyond control and worst to maintain the status quo of a certain Political position one must have many supporters and to sustain the loyalty of a supporter you must have money to finance and to have more money you must do illegal acts. if not criminal business for easy money.

Originally Party List were created to represent the marginalized sectors of society like for example labor, or another sectors that need to be represented in the house of representatives. But I guess some politicians started using them so that they can secretly represent their interest already and not some sectors in our society. It is really hard for Comelec to identify which sectors they represent anymore since some are dummies of other politicians who have a hard time getting in the house and just guise themselves as Party list representative of some sector.

That is specifically the reason why we remain in poverty even if the present news states that the country is economically improving. The money that should go to infrastructure especially in rural areas land in the pockets of corrupt politicians. That is why everyone is simply captivated with a political position as it is a way to gain wealth. Just think of the millions of allowances pocketed by these politicians from the senators down to the barangay level. Nobody seems to follow the "daang matuwid". However, we can improve this situation by being a wise voter. Sadly, people still consider popularity and money which makes us think twice whether there remains hope for the country.

That must make it complicated. How are they able to do things for the people? They are too busy taking bribes, and getting favors from their cronies. It sounds like a burden and for a small country that is wrong. I guess you actually have to work for government to get anywhere.

Corruption is always breeding in the minds of politicians. Politicians are nothing but a bunch of ambitious and power crazy people. They need grassroot supporters for their survival in politics and in order to earn that continued support from the so called supporters politicians are forced to resort to dirty tactics to be where they are in politics. We as the citizens and voters of our countries should vote wisely for able leaders who are genuinely committed to the welfare of the nation and not some opportunists who are only seeking for glory at the expense of the country.
The election fever is sweeping our country too and it is interesting to see the country being decorated with sea of multiple flags representing many political parties vying for seats in the congress.

I don't know. Some people might take an different look on this. Party list representatives are still representatives of marginalized people(or so they claim) and for some people, they would rather have a voice and democracy in the works rather than be rich or affluent. I will agree that the system has a lot of money especially in allocation of budgets but I guess that's the way it is. Having a representative means you get a voice, a presence and a person to ask money for that people's needs. How the money gets allocated is another can of worms.

Yeah politics, the easiest way to get rich without going to jail. They're actually the reason why Philippines is poor. If only they just receive money according to the amount of their salary and honestly serve as what they always promise during their election campaigns, we could have been living better.

I think it doesn't stop there, please do include that many government employees are corrupting us as well, they do not perform well but they're paid higher than those who are really working their butts off! Yet they act as if they're deeply rooted because they know "someone" inside that's why they got their positions in the first place! I would greatly suggest that nobody should be a regular government employee - let everyone have the chance to be an employee in the government.
Whew! I have friends in the government too, but they are even proud that they don't really do anything but still get paid a lot! There are those who are there (not even qualified) because they have relatives or "friends". I mean, it's okay if they're doing something, but if they need to keep papers piling up and then hiring encoders when deadlines come - what's the point of hiring them in the first place?!?!
Arrrghhh... Nobody would be corrupt if nobody put them in power in the first place!

There is always a big allocation of funds annually for each department in the government. And yet despite it all, how could they not make a difference each time? Still a lot of problems remain unsolved, economy sulks, low employment rate, low salaries and A LOT OF UNDERGROUND TRANSACTIONS! Don't they ever get guilty of being on their post and yet do nothing at all? The rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer than ever!
