Hi mylotters,
It is viral in any social media the pictures of ann curtis wearing a black gown with remarkable and extreme slit on the side during her birthday special performance on ASAP last sunday.
Different opinions were scattered about the pictures, some are negative and some are positive comments.
How about you guys? Do you think ann's outfit was too much liberated and not good in the eyes of the young viewers?
or
It's okey and trendy.
For me: It is okey , we are now in the 21st century, and in the firt place, Ann wore it with extra care and in descent way .It was just an expression of herself since it was her birthday performance so it is considerably okey, she should do it during special occassion only.

Are we now being conservative? And then we are always rallying for freedom of expression? Hehe filipinos are just fickle minded and we do not know what we want. Others were just pretending to be conservative but would die to have a body like hers and wear what she wears. Huh. If you got it then why be ashamed? It is not like she was on a political rally walking in the street with a high slit. So what is the fuss all about?
Give her a break!
For me it was okay and she just stood there and sang (not b that her singing was commendable). She did it all for the performance as required. So let her be.
I have seen far worst dresses and even a more troubling sight of women and their dresses.

thank you my dear. well the thing is, its what we all are brought up to. We are like bamboos, we Filipinos. Often we go where the wind is blowing.. we sway with the "crowd". And we cannot even be sure what our opinions are. Just because someone called "foul" now most are like saying... "yeah, right... (oo nga...)" its like this, and that.. and whatever they can think of to join the majority... he he
As for the detractors, yeah that's all part of it, being envious of her (Imagine, who else in the industry has had a concert in the big dome but can't sing?) :P hahaha Aren't we all just weird? let's just embrace those we love, and just shrug off those we don't like. There is no need to pull one down just because she is able to "fly" Let us just all learn how to fly in our own rights.

Nice response chiyosan!
That is actually the problem with some Filipino, some do not appreciate and not supportive of what others are doing, anything you did whether it is good or bad are always bad in their eyes. I don't know exactly the perfect term for those kind of person.. the only word in my mind is " ENVY".. isn't it?
Thanks for the response.

Well, I wasn't able to watch it on TV (sigh), but I saw it on the net. I guess it's OK since she explained her side pretty well. Also, it was like any other dress shown on any other variety show out there. I guess conservative people are bored and would just like to bash someone they laid their eyes on.

Yeah, nothing wrong with her outfit, that's normal among celebrities .. Its just that people are born to make weird comments!

Well I never saw that actual show but I hear a lot from everyone that it looks like she was not wearing an underwear as many are claiming. But with the dress I do not find anything wrong with it at all since she was all wrapped with that slit on the side.
Well if GMA has been noted on their performance I guess Anne's costume was not that so serious for me. I guess it was just that some malicious viewers took it the other way around.

Hello cttolledo, its just her own way of creativity in giving a good solid performance as a person. not to mention it was her birthday too, the reaction was normal and some parents are just conservative for their kids on what they see. this is the modern world now a days and it's completely diffeo, its just her own way of creativity in go, its just her own way of creativity in g0rent from the era of the 70's to 80s musicians. but she didn't violate anything. have a nice day

I think Ann carried the dress well. Now if her bikini line isn't waxed, then that is when we should react negatively.
Just kidding. I haven't seen the actual show, just some couple of videos and write ups. And from the way they all described her, she acted decently and not all trashy. I think she carried herself and the dress with finesse. Now, if I can only have a body like hers so I can also parade in a dress like that in front of my husband...

She looks gorgeous on her outfit, I just hope she really have one on, aside from the dress of course. Well, celebrities can not please everybody and as the saying goes all that is much should be curtailed. Some says, it's a bit provocative so she must be careful next time.

The outfit is okay with the older and mature audience. It's just the younger generation that they might worry about.

At first, I was shocked. But then I realized it is not something new on tv. back in the late 80's and early 90's almost all celebrities, including Sharon Cuneta have worn the tangga. For people who loved watching shows like VIP, ALMA, Dck and Carmi etc., I am sure you still remember that they use to wear this outfit all the time. It is just not that common performance outfit these days, but I think it was just fine.

I agree. A lot of celebrities doing it.. ( old or new celebrities), people must accept change from time to time, we need to evolve also in terms of fashion and lifestyle..

For my husband Ann Curtis outfit was great and she really looks so hot but the bad thing was my 8 years old nephews also saw that and i think it's not appropriate since the show is more on singing and dancing much better if they more sensitive in every number.
