I have almost always enjoyed dining out at Olive Garden restaurants. Of course, who can resist endless breadsticks? But their salads and soups are great, too. Minestrone Soup is my favorite. During cold and flu season or when life is hard, their minestrone soup makes it all better. The hardest part for me is choosing an entree and dessert. There are just too many delicious pasta dishes to choose from. Mom and I usually split a carry out order of eggplant parmesan for a supper treat, with garlic butter and marinara sauces on the side, due to our different preferences. Then we negotiate between a slice of Lemon Cake for her and Tiramisu for me, taking turns or bargaining for points to see who wins the battle of the dessert decision. But if I'm dining alone or with a date or group of friends, I might order the Manicotti, Linguine or Pizza, then finish with Chocolate Cake or Tiramisu and Cappuccino or Espresso. The food and service are always good at Olive Garden.

My husband and I were give an gift card to the Olive gardens we had not been there in several years. It is rather beyond our budget. We went on February 22nd to celebrate my husband's 64th birthday. We took our 16 year old granddaughter and also a friend with us. The friend paid for his and our granddaughters meals. We had really good food, very filling. The staff brought my husband a chocolate mousse cake for dessert with a candle in it. The rest of us had a pudding type dessert. It was all very good. It was a real treat for us.

Olive Garden has always been a special experience and a real treat for me. It's been mostly out of my budget, as well. Before we got an Olive Garden in my hometown, the nearest was almost an hour away in Texas. Back then, if you were a single female and got a dinner invitation to Olive Garden, you knew it was a romantic intention. lol

People think I am strange because I can't stand pasta, to me it tastes rubbery and have never eaten a pasta that I have found tasty, which is a shame as pasta is rich in carbs, ideal for the weight training that I do. You had my mouth watering at the Tiramisu. I remember a wonderful little restaurant in Central London I went with my partner too regularly and they served delicious tiramisu, I have never been able to find anything that comes anywhere close to it!

I purposely stayed away from Olive Garden when I moved here to the US. Reason is, hubby and I are supposed to have a date night there during his RnR. Last month, we were on our trip to visit our house in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, it never happened because that was also the same week that a snowstorm wrecked havoc on the major roadways. Good thing our flights back were not cancelled but that didn't leave us enough time to go to Olive Garden. Next month he will be on RnR again and this time, we will make sure to go to Olive Garden. Everyone here says it's a must-go resto. I can't wait!
