my dog is losing weight

My dog is losing weight I wonder what happened to him. We just got baby to attend at home so I couldn't monitor him closely. Could he be suffering from depression since we can no longer give him attention as much as before?

I would not doubt that is depression. the same thing happened to my dog when i was born. He eventually got attached to my sister more than my parents and got better, but it could also be becasue of aging. My dog did not eat well when he started getting old, he ate less and less all the time and got very thin, by the end of his life he was sharing his food with my cat and we had to put him down because of blindness. It is probably a natural animal thing and a vet visit will only put a hefty hole in our pocket.

My dog is losing weight too but he is almost 15 years old and losing his body fat because of it. He has also been found to be getting bitten by ticks which I don't think has helped. There are horses that are constantly walking up and down our street and they have ticks. Then my dog goes out to do his business and they attached to him. It is totally disgusting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Is your dog eating his meals? He could be unhappy but if he's eating I don't think he's unhappy there could be another underlining problem. I would get your dog checked out at the vet ASAP. Good luck!

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i feel bad for your dog and yes that might be one of the reason but i think we should never predict the health of animals and it would be better if u consult a good doc and inquire the details about the fluctuation of its weight, that would be better. What say?
