It took 8 months to get my first bill

I moved to British Columbia 8.5 months ago. I had an apartment where I hooked up hydro and it was my responsibility to pay it. The day I was moving out of the apartment into the house I bought this month I finally received my first hydro bill. They apologies for the delay in my bill and charged me for 8 months of hydro the day I moved out. How nice.

Good grief! Well I would assume that they didn't give you a late charge with being substantially behind like that. Many places are like that, let alone lucky they didn't cut you off.

That really stinks that they did delay in billing you for so many months while you were living in the apartment. I know that they probably want you to pay them right away. However, I think that since it took them so long to bill you that you should be given an extended period of time to be allowed to pay them back. It probably isn't something that you would want to do, but since they weren't prompt in billing you, I don't think that you should have to be prompt in paying them.

Just as long as they don't continue to charge you for usage at the apartment! And how long before they send a bill for your house?

What? That's crazy. So you mean you could have stayed there for years and yet they will not send you the bill until you moved out? Well, I am not sure how they learned that you are going already but they made it just in time.
