When does it become "official"/

I'm not too sure about anyone else, but times of "going steady" have changed dramatically. Back in the day, a guy could spend months courting a potential girlfriend and then once they start dating its an even longer waiting game to get engaged and get married.
These days; periods of "courting" aren't very long and I have even heard of people getting engaged after just two weeks of knowing each other. Even more I have heard of people having children with a guy they dated for one week. That just blows my mind thinking about it.
I'm not sure why but facebook has become the way to make your relationship "official. Do you use this step in making the leap from "single" to "in a relationship"?

I have been with my fiance almost 3 years; we were good friends for 7 years, when we started dating we were engaged after 3 months; possibly getting married early next year.

Just like you, I am confused on how people of today can say when they have actually started being a couple. But I guess, some would really have a set date for that special day. And yes, Facebook status has also been their means of updating their relationship status. Unfortunately, I was already 12 years married when Facebook was developed!

I think this just so happens to a few people while they go about having fun and having a time of their lives some do engage in one night stands and this is v the reason they have babies from guys they barely know.
As for my friends, I think some Did have only a couple of weeks of courtship and they will be in a relationship. The making of a God relationship as official is Between the couple and v they often I would gob steady even before they declared the status in face book.
I believe being in a relationship of at least ab year is the safest time to know if you would want to be with the person. Of course b that should be the minimum no. Of months for me. Some just rush into engagement because the woman is already pregnant or that they have already known each other longer than I their being in a relationship.

It is not so nice that a certain website will be the one who tell that your officially on, its so different if a man really court you in front and not just by chatting, or texting vice versa, because you can see the sincerity of a man on how they will court.
Though their are some people who met on website and it so happen to settle with each other 'coz they fall in love. As for me, though your chatting with each other its nice to meet him/her in person and start to getting to know each other.
