Spurs assert that they are the top dog of London beating Arsenal 2-1!!

Spurs moved 7 points clear on top by beating Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane. Goals from Gareth Bale and Lennon within two minutes of each other just before the break were good enough to seal the game for Tottenham. Arsenal did reduce the margin through Per Mertasacker, but a dodgy defense and a host of missed chances meant that they are now really struggling in that chase for the Champions League spot. Spurs seem to be a club on the rise, while Arsenal seem to continue their downward spiral. Cheers! Ram

Spurs continue their wonders this season. Hoping to see them in the CL again. Too bad for Arsenal. Was expecting them in the CL also, but with their current performance, better to stay at EPL first and try to improve it next season

I think if they do not qualify for the CL, then it might be a reboot at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger's reign might come to an end and new management might come in. Cheers! Ram

Tottenham as a whole team and club must be admired because they have showed Chelsea and particularly Roman that patience is everything in football. They took a gamble on Andre Villas Boas who was sacked unfairly by Chelsea just seven months into the job. For now, it is looking good for spurs and bad for gunners. Cheers.....

Yes, AVB is slowly settling into the job. Let him complete the full year and then we can assess him properly. Cheers! Ram

I caught the games and I ain't surprised by the defensive errors that led to both the Tottenham goals. Arsenal can defend even if their lives depend on it. In soccer, either you make it difficult for the opponents to score or you outscore them, regardless of how many you concede. The problem with Arsenal is that their defense is leaky and their attack is blunt. Their position in the table is just what they deserve. With this result, qualifying for next season CL is getting harder and harder.

Your assessment of Arsenal's offense and defense is spot on. Their defense is like the Leaky Cauldron to quote the Harry Potter terminology. Speaking of Harry Potter, Arsene Wenger probably might have to turn to wizardry now to qualify for next year's CL. Cheers! Ram

The pace of Lennon and Bale is lightning. And they can hurt any defense on their day. Also the Arsenal defense is pretty much a leaky defense these days. Cheers! Ram
