life going upside down

I just received news that one of my uncles have turned for the worse. The stage 4 lung cancer has now reached the brain and has a blood vessel bleeding. The doctor only gives him a few days. The state of Iowa is under a snow storm watch. Since I have no one that can take my place at work, it's highly unlikeable that I will be able to make it north to say good bye to my uncle. My other uncle and aunt are on the road going from their house to his (which is a 2 hour drive in good weather). Most days I do love my job, but this is the one time that I really wish I didn't have it! My father is finding his flight to get there as soon as he can and will be able to keep me posted. Of all the times to be without emergency money! Oh yeah, still wouldn't be able to go because of the job!! I'm sending all my prayers to my family as they deal with our upcoming loss. I wish I could be there! :'(

I've been praying for him to be blessed with a healthy body. My idea and God's idea, aren't the same idea.

How sad. This is really the time when you wish things were not what they are. Anyway, just pray. Your folks will understand. Maybe you can still say goodbye to your uncle by calling him and talking to him through the mobile phone. At least, your father will be there. This is the reality of life. We can never chose when or where things will happen. Things just happened the way God has planned and we can't do anything about it.

We just found out that he had lung cancer two weeks ago. This turn of events has everyone shaken. If God wants to bring him home, I pray that he does it quickly and painlessly.

My father is on his way over there. He's going to set up the call so I'm able to talk to him. This way, I can remember him the way he used to be and not the way he is now. I just don't have anyone to cover my responsibilities or the money to go.

Oh, that's really terrible. yeah, you are right to pray for a painless way of dying. I would also do that if it happened to my family member. It will be more painful to see your loved one undergo so much pain.

Your feeling and concern for your uncle is highly appreciated. These days one is only bothered with the nuclear family.

I'm sorry to hear that your uncle's cancer is terminal. I'm also sorry to hear that you will not be able to travel there. It would be hard to deal with something like that. I understand what you mean about not having emergency money it is so important to have it because we never know what may happen that we may need it to be able to travel for some reason. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Thank you...I'm so lost right now. He's only in his 50's. Too short of a life. :'(

Sad to hear about your situation. As you mentioned your uncle is in hospital due to his bad health. You are in need to go there to visit them, but your job don't allow you to do this.. How sad.
