Orchids at the Top Deck - Here's the picture of the house where the top deck is filled with orchids. What a beautiful sight to behold.

I have attached herewith the picture of the house I pass by everyday as I walk to the road where jeepneys passes by. It never fails to amaze me , looking up the house to see different orchids flowers abloom on the top deck of the house. It is a very big house that occupies their whole lot. What they don’t have on their ground, since it is cemented and serves as garage to their cars, they compensate it on the roof deck. And it is a beautiful sight as one passes by.

I also love to see greens and colorful flowers around the house. I am no green thumb also. But good thing is, my husband is He also has planted orchids in our yard. I just suggest what plant I want to have and he is the one who plants them, and even takes care of them. Because just like what you mentioned in one of your comments, the plants wither when I tend them.

Lucky you my friend because you have a husband who is a green thumb. Though, see to it that your orchids are guarded by your dogs, because here in our place there are robbers who gets the orchid flowers.

hmmm thanks for the reminder. Our orchids are placed near the fence. It can possibly be reached by anybody. But good thing we didn't experience being stolen with anything yet. But it is better to be ready than be sorry later. I'd better tell my husband to transfer them. Sometimes, I doubt if my husband really is a real man. because he also loves flowers.... just kidding

Yeah, we think of a man liking to plant and tend to flowers as someone less manly. But that is not always applicable.

Hello SimplyD, Now that my dog has finally finished chewing flowers up and knocking all the plants over I might try again too. Not sure if he is out of the habit yet so I might just wait a while longer. Very nice photo and I love all kinds of flowers in some people´s house they have really fabulous flower arrangements that makes me feel really happy to look at such nice things although where I live there are mainly common wild flowers but all combined together look just as lovely although some might not think so. Brilliant red poppies are due to start blooming soon and white chamomile flowers too and also some honey coloured kind of flowers but not sure what they are called. See if I can put a photo or two on when they do come through so you can see them.xxx

Yes, seeing flowers in bloom would really be so nice to look at. Everyday now since the orchids in that topmost deck of the house i pass by is up abloom, i would look up to watch them while i was walking. I was afraid that i might trip off because i am on my heels. I can't stop to look at them because i am afraid i might be suspected of watching over the place for possible robbery.

Hello SimplyD, I get to feel like that too if I am looking at the flowers in a garden that belongs to someone else. Yes you have to be careful what you do as well because the neighbours could think the wrong things and of course they would not be true. However I think its a great idea to have the flowers up there as they are safe and get more sunshine and shelter by the look of it. Be careful with those heels though I have sprained my ankle three times wearing them so I am very careful now as the pavements are very uneven in some parts and you cannot be too careful about that either. Mostly we will be driving past and I can still see the flowers but they will not take much notice if I am just observing the flowers.xxx

To stare at those flowers looking up on the deck can be a strain on the neck, but i really can't help it, because they are beautiful. The owner is so right in having them on the top deck, because here there are cases of orchid flowers being stolen, since they are sold expensively. As to my heels, i am used to them since i was working in offices for more than 22 years already . Though, now that i am aging i am so careful lest i sprain my ankle or fall because of it and my bones might break.

That is quite beautiful and quite creative, and I am sure there are many who notice and stop and glare in amazement and take pictures. This is quite an amazement for someone to even consider doing something like this. Would take a lot of work to keep them looking this nice for sure.

Well, they are that rich to have an orchid garden on their top deck, krausel. Besides, it's one good way of maximizing the non existence of enough space for a garden.

I like having plants and flowers around the house as well. Since I really don't have the green thumb nor the luxury to hire someone to fix our yard, I have to make do with potted plants. All I have to do is make sure they get enough water and sunlight. But since I am hopeless, I tend to drown them or fry them.

Like you , i don't have a green thumb. So , i also chose to buy the already blooming potted plants. But they withered, i don't know why so from then on, i don't buy anymore. I just let my mother-in-law do the planting. I just admire the plants when they are already in bloom, specially the orchids. So, every time i see those orchids on the top deck of that house, i feel happy. Though, i feel like i will be having a stiff neck looking up on them.

our house is on a corner lot so we have plants around the house. there used to be fruit-bearing trees, too, when we were kids. we even have plants inside the house. my mother takes care of them, but now she's more into edible plants so she goes to manila seedling bank once in a while. she also had the pots painted in white and apple green. i lived in a boarding house for a while, which was inside a small subdivision where public transportation aren't allowed, so it's so nice to walk around because the air is fresh, the trees are huge, and some houses have walls of bougainvillea or yellowbells. i'm okay with ordinary flowers that grow anywhere. i had officemates from pangasinan who would laugh when i'm so happy to see them because they are considered just roadside plants in the province.

Actually, there are a lot of roadside plants that have nice flowers. One of them is kalachuchi. Also the peanut plants with small yellow flowers.
