Birds seen whilst at home or on your travels

My friend likes to take her 4 year old daughter to see a man that has aviary in his garden with budgerigars and finches. The little girl loves to see the birds fly around. When I visited Australia I wondered if I would see any wild budgerigars however I didn't. Instead I saw other types of birds like Cockatoos in Sydney's botanical garden. I stayed at a youth hostel in the bush and the balcony was rich with bird life. A cockatoo stole a boy's piece of toast at breakfast time. In Queensland I saw the colorful Rainbow Lorikeet and found it ever so beautiful. Years later in Western Australia I saw the pink and gray parrot called the Rose Breasted Cockatoo. Wow! Even better I liked seeing the Port Lincoln Parakeet. It is known as the 28 bird due to its colors and it noises. In a more recent year I have seen blue and gold macaws and Toucan birds at a bird park in Brazil. Wow! My aunt used to have a Cockatiel and my family used to have a White Fronted Amazon Parrot. I have happy memories of them. Which birds have you seen at home and on your travels? Do you have any local places where you can see many birds?

One thing I don't like to see is birds in catches, I like to see birds being allowed to fly free, to keep them in cages is cruel, I know they are let out occasionally but still they are put in cages. That is another reason why I hate pet shops, I have been in a few where they have had birds for sale and it gives me the creeps, seeing all these birds in the same cage trapped. It reminds me of my own situation when I was trapped like a bird in a cage in my abusive relationships. My favourite bird is the robin I love seeing them and hearing their bird song. We have a lot of parakeets which are wild that fly around the area.

I know exactly which pink and gray parrots you mentioned; they come to my back yard every day... And when I sit by the large river not too far from my home, I'd see some black swans too... There are many trees in my back yard, and different kinds of birds come and eat there in the morning...

Galapagos, of course. Finches, and boobies, frigate birds, albatross, hawks, pelicans, etc. etc. etc.

I am fascinated by birds... all kinds of birds... even by the city pigeons lots of people find disgusting. I haven't seen any spectacular or exotic kind of species in my life, other than in zoos... I've only seen (apart from the zoo birds) hens, turkeys, sparrows, pigeons, crows, robins, ravens and parrots... and some random species I don't know. But that doesn't stop me from marvelling at them.
