are urinary tract infections and kidney infections are the same?

hi guys, needs your opinion on this sickness my cousin have. she was diagnosed kidney infections and in the hospital now. i want to know the different of this two urinary tract infections and kidney infections because the doctor said my cousin has urinary tract infections before and turned out to kidney infections and i dont know the difference of this. hope you can help me. and one thing can i ask what is the foods that can be eaten by the patient who has kidney infections? thank you! :)
