I Have Bible Everywhere

March 5, 2013 11:41pm CST
I have a bible in almost every strategic place I normally go or stay. I have a bible in my car. I have one beside my bed. I have three android cellphones, a tablet and a netbook and I have installed bibles in all of these gadgets. I have installed on my tablet and netbook as well as our PC bible study tools necessary for me to study the bible. These tools include bibles of different translations (at least four translations for comparison), a bible dictionary, at least two commentaries, etc. Now, who says only the fulltime pastors and ministers should study the bible? We all need to know God more and more through His Word so we could grow in our walk with Him. Now, I still have a problem though...despite having all these tools, I haven't really studied like our pastors did. I would start and go on studying and stop again. Well, I don't really have time sometimes and I admit I need discipline. But certainly, I have a daily Time Alone With God that consists praise and worship with my guitar, praying for others and myself, reading at least a chapter from the bible and journaling especially when I have a memory verse to keep. Have you ever tried an extensive study of the bible using these downloadable tools?

You asked, "have you ever tried an extensive study of the bible using these downloadable tools?" I have what is called the OnLine Bible program (but you actually download it and put it on your computer). As a minister I use it every week and quite often. This is a great improvement over a few decades ago when all we had available were books.

Hi Adval I have not tried those downloadable tools but they sound great! I needed to be disciplined when I was reading the Bible. I found I would go through periods when I would read, read, read and then I would leave it for a while. As of last fall I read it first thing in the morning while having my coffee, and my two dogs sit with me, since I started doing this it has now become a wonderful habit for me it is starting my day right.

I have done studies of various concepts and doctrines, but not using downloadable tools. I use my old brown Bible and a Concordance, a couple of different translations and a Bible Dictionary. The online helps are handy and I use them, but not to do an in depth study with.

" despite having all these tools, i haven't really studied like our pastors did " --- don't be decieved, most pastors in these times also haven't learned, because if they have learned,, they won't decieved many people,, i you want to learn the bible,, the first thing you have to do is pray to God for His guidance,, because unless God open your mind,, you can't really understand what was written there,,
