Stellar Beans is a funky little family owned and operated coffee house in downtown lake Charles, Louisiana. They not only offer menu items for special diets, like sugar freem gluten free and vegan, they also support local culture in a big way. Their tables weere hand painted by local professional artists. Their walls are lined with the works of more local artists. They have regular interactive events, like a weekly Poetry Open Mic Night, and seasonal events, such as Dia de los Muertes Mask Painting Night. In addition, they usually participate in downtown merchant events, like art gallery crawls. Stellar Beans also makes a delicious breakfast for the morning coffee crowd. Everything but the coffee, baked goods and soups is cooked fresh to order. And the staff are a sweet bunch of folks. Next time you're passing through Lake Charles, Louisiana on I-10 or gambling at the casinos, make time for a stop at Stellar Beans.

That sounds like a nice social place to meet up and eat, the way they have designed it and the way they operate it definitely makes it stand out and attractive, definitely a break from the norm. Louisiana is in the deep south, am I right in thinking that? I didn't know they had casino establishments there?

Hey there wolfs! Stellar Beans is an awesome place to meet and eat. They've always got live entertainment and/or interactive events going on in the evenings and weekends and whenever there's an event with downtown merchants or an art walk. Never a dull moment at Stellar Beans. You are correct, Louisiana contains Coastal, Deep and Mid South regions. Stellar Beans is in Lake Charles, located in Southwest Louisiana (the ankle of the boot), which is a Coastal cultural crossroads, bordering on Deep South. Yes, we do indeed have casinos in Louisiana, everywhere from New Orleans and Baton Rouge to Lake Charles to Shreveport, with tribal casinos sprinkled in between and machines in truck stops and restaurants, as well, but interestingly, not at Stellar Beans.
