I have been sick only once, and I still don't understand why : the sea was very calm, and it was a large boat. The travel lasted 8 hours, and I vomited all the time -- the more difficult is to want to vomit when your stomach is empty --. I have never been sick during a storm... Since this bad experience, I buy pills against sea sickness when I have to take a boat. Ask your pharmacist.

generally no medicine works and relieves sea sickness. you have to wait till you acclimatized yourself to shipboard life.

So far, I have not experience any seasickness thou I am prone to motion sickness. As for preventive measures, you can try packing some sour plum or prunes with you. They might help with the "awful" feeling

good suggestions, thank you. sugar candy with orange flavor is also good to have in such situation.
