The Magic of Oil Pulling

I tried oil pulling a couple of months ago and I noticed that my teeth are whiter. They say that it also prevents diseases. For those who do not know, oil pulling is done by rinsing the mouth with 1 tablespoon of oil for 15 to 20 minutes and spitting it out. Use sesame or sunflower oil. I used virgin coconut oil and I think that it really works. Not only is my teeth whiter now. My skin is also better looking. Just be careful not to swallow the oil because it's like swallowing the toxins that you have accumulated.

Hello Green Thumb, I find your writing interesting. So has there been any research done on the subject ? I mean where do you know about this and how do you know it is safe for your teeth to keep in oil for long period of time ? Sometimes oil is contaminated with other stuff, I am thinking of cheap sunflower where there are good chances that other things be found in them, that might not have the desired effect. Coconut oil and Virgin olive oil is quite expensive here, not to mention that almost all virgin olive oil does not mean the "originality" testing (pretty sure most is not legit).

Thank you elitess! This was recommended by my dermatologist when I had skin allergies that won't go away with anything that she prescribes. She was a family friend and admitted that she's been doing this for years. The allergies were gone after just one week of doing it with no traces or marks at all. I'm just happy that my teeth is whiter. I guess it's ok to use cheap sunflower oil as long as it's organic or unrefined and you will not accidentally swallow it. My sister swallowed it accidentally and had sore throat the whole week. But the doctor said it could be worse. I read in an article that the health of the mouth is directly linked to organ health. The bacteria in the mouth (really bad stuff that forms the plaque) is very attracted to the acids of the oil. So it melts this bad stuff and then you spit it out.

Keep the oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes? How do you manage to do that?

I do it while watching news in the morning. I would set an alarm for 20 minutes, sit in the couch, watch some TV and swish the oil in my mouth. Before I knew it, the 20 minutes is over.

Thank You for the info. I have ordered from this healthstore that I get my herbs from and they have the Oil Pulling for the teeth. I have been trying stuff little by little so I may try the oil pulling next. I am about to use coconut oil for daily consumption since so many have good things to say about it. thanks so much for this info.

I got an article writing job a couple of months ago on coconut oil and the one articles was about oil pulling so I had the pleasure of learning all about it. I have been doing daily oil pulling for the last four months and it is fantastic. My teeth are also whiter and it helps to pulls toxins out of the body which obviously is great. I use extra virgin olive oil when I do my oil puling. I'd prefer to use coconut oil, but where I live it is fairly hard to get and quite expensive. I highly recommend oil pulling, it works great.

I use virgin coconut oil to because it's cheaper in my country than other oils for oil pulling. I tried it for my skin and I'm happy that it work wonders for me. I don't know the other benefits of it but I'm sure that it's all good since I'm not swallowing it.

sorry, i don't quite understand. how did rinsing your mouth with oil cure your allergies? 1 tablespoon isn't that much. so do you let it sit in there, or do you use your tongue to spread it around your oral cavity, like your teeth and gums, the roof of your mouth, the insides of your cheeks? so when you spit it out, what next? rinse it out with water?r brush your teeth?
