Some think that just like her retirement, the induction of Martina Hingis into the Hall of Fame this June is premature. I was always a big Hingis fan and I feel she deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. It seems to be pretty certain that she will not be returning to the tour so I don't consider it premature for her to be inducted into the the Hall of Fame. She was a great player who just seemed to flow about the court with great anticipation and was even able to handle the bigger and stronger players when they appeared on the tour. She was the first woman to beat both Venus Williams and Serena Williams in back to back matches. She seemed to be much better at thinking on the court than many of her rivals.

I don't see why she shouldn't be inducted. She's obviously not coming back now and if she is going to be inducted some day why not now. Unless of course there's someone more deserving than she is but I can't seem to recollect anyone. She's been fantastic and has given us many memorable moments throughout her career. For her technique and game, if she doesn't deserve it, not many do.
