Chocolate Mint

My best friend loves the flavors of chocolate and mint together. I enjoy it in an Andes candy patty after a meal, but not so much at other times or in other forms. My friend goes bananas for chocolate mint candies, chocolate mint ice cream, even chocolate mint fudge. Chocolate might make you drowsy by itself, except that it has a bit of caffeine in it, depending on the actual cocoa content. Mint is an awakening, refreshing taste that goes with a lot of different things. So chocolate and mint do make for a good treat. I'm just not as fond of it as my friend is.

I personally have tried some of these mint chocolates. It's fine but unlike my favorite chocolate variants like white chocolate and choco with nuts, I would probably just eat a piece of it as a refresher/dessert after a meal. Whereas, with my favorite chocolate variants, I would probably wait for my mother to tell me to stop eating it hehehe.

Nice to meet you, Ghajini, thanks for joining in this discussion on Chocolate Mint. Like you, I think I will just keep my chocolate mint consumption to the after dinner bite-size layered candy. My preferences definitely lie elsewhere.

Now that is one combination that definitely appeals to me, I even have chocolate and mint combo in my hot chocolate, the two go wonderfully together, in any winning combination, chocolate, cake, biscuits, hot chocolate, they were made for each other, a match made in heaven. I especially like Elizabeth Shaw's Mint Crisps we usually have them at Christmas as an after dinner mint with coffee, black naturally, and of course there's the famous after eight mints, chocolate thins with mint cream inside, now I am craving chocolate!

Hey there wolfs! I've not heard of Elizabeth Shaw's Mint Crisps till now. Must be living wrong side of the Pond. They sound similar to the Andes Candies layered chocolate mint mini candybar bit, except maybe they have cookies in them??? Sounds like they'd be marvelous with coffee. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. I don't think I've had chocolate mint with black coffee before. A good strong coffee will certainly setoff most chocolates.

I like chocolates very much. But I didn't tasted the flavors of chocolate and mint together. So I didn't know the taste of chocolate and mint mix flavor.

I remember when I was younger, I used to love the chocolate mint hershey bars, they were just so yummy . Now whenever I do eat ice cream, I do like to eat chocolate mint chip ice cream. I like the extra sort of coolness taste that comes with the mint.

I don't like chocolate and mint together. I just might not be that much of a gourmand... I don't know why, but all minty stuff remind me of toothpaste :D.

Hello again, dorffee, my friend. Thanks for joining us in discussing chocolate and mint. I don't know if it's gourmetness or not, to not like this flavor combination. I consider myself wuite the foodie, but do not like this combination of chocolate and mint personally, beyond the after dinner Andes candy offered at some restaurants as a breath freshener. I've never considered the toothpaste connection beyond that.
