I have loved the McAlister's Deli in my hometown ever since it got there. It may be a chain, but the manager and staff make it feel local. I really like their vegetarian chili with saltines and a good salad or on a baked spud. Their broccoli and cheese spud and soup are pretty good, too. Free wifi and great tea are icing on the cake. And they are generous community supporters, as well. I've spent many an hour writing on my laptop there, while noshing on my favorite menu item of the day.

I always think the staff make a restaurant, if you go in and there's a friendly, warm atmosphere waiting for you, you feel at home, and you feel that your custom is wanted and appreciated. The broccoli and cheese spud sounds good! What are saltines? I haven't heard of them before, are they a local delicacy?
