As many of you know for a short period accessing personal information of mylot users was possible. With this information one can google for more data. This can be reduced by editing information on one's FB (restricting it to friends only) and anywhere else including images. Hope those who are worried about exposure could resort to atleast editing of information provided on other sites.

If you are fine with not having any information about you that could be accessible because of users knowing your real name, all is well.

Although the site under test shows the real name GAA has clarified that in the name area we can choose any name and not necessarily our real name. The problem is that without our consent the test site has our real name and I think they are going to change that. This site is no longer accessible to the public now.

myLot is in the process of doing some changes to their site and there was a test run of the site on the Net and the new changes showed the real names of myLot users. I including a few other created a shindig and myLot Admin have now removed that site from public view. I will not be able to help you to see if your real name is there.

This is a very good way of informing the public how to take care of their identity. I'd definitely do this to stay safe.

No one likes their life to be an 'open book' and so it is wise to use features that help us remain private.

Well, I have nothing to hide. So I guess this doesnt bother me much. But hey, there are many who need much of their info not to show up and I wonder if that is the way the want things, why do they put up such info online? After all, on the computers there are always risks involved.

myLot users would under normal circumstances not have access to whatever information they would have placed under their real name elsewhere but as you know it is not so now atleast for the short time their name was exposed.

I certainly hid some info about me. I know that the little devil is still searching about what has been going on with me for the past two years. Even though I am not guilty of his accusations, I have kept myself away from the "limelight". He just want it all by himself!

If I like someone dearly then I would call that person little devil. What's with this person who you call little devil and yet you want to stay away from him?

I thought most people now love to display their life in the internet and wants to be celebrities. Some don't hide their real names. Some who use Facebook have photos that are easy to browse by the public.

I did say that only those who are concerned about their personal information going public could resort to editing their information.

There is only so much that the public should know about us and if we keep our pages open then even that information that we would not want the public to know would be available to them. But fortunately there are ways that the info can be kept away from the view of the public.
